Hillary's D.C. Fundraiser Flops -- Op. Infinite FReep Report 11/08/01
self | November 8, 2001 | Kristinn

Posted on 11/08/2001 8:35:07 PM PST by kristinn

Senator Hillary Clinton ('Rat-NY) held a sparsely attended political fundraiser at her Washington, D.C. Embassy Row mansion this evening. The dozen-or-so anti-Hillary protesters who gathered at the entrance to her street almost out-numbered those who came to pay homage to the former first lady and her political agenda.

One of the protesters walked up the road at 6:45 p.m. and observed the affair from across the street. What she saw shocked her; there was hardly anyone at Hillary's fundraiser. Around one hundred name tags were laid out on a table on the driveway in front of the house under a party tent. But only a few people could be seen milling about--and most of them were staff and waiters. In fifteen minutes, only one guest was seen arriving.

No media was seen there. The lackluster scene was in stark contrast to the expectation earlier this year that Hillary would take the place of the late Pamela Harriman as the Democrats' salon hostess-with the-mostest in D.C. after she held her wildly successful first fundraiser in April for freshman Senator Maria Cantwell ('Rat-Wa).

Things have gone south so fast for Hillary that one staffer was heard to say tonight, "This always happens. We send out alot of invitations, and just a few (people) show up."

An hour later, when the affair was in full swing, a second recon was done. A couple dozen name tags were gone from the table, but a steady stream of people were seen leaving Hillary's mansion in the ten minutes the recon team was there.

When the door opened for the guests to leave, the recon team observed that there were no party sounds emanating from Hillary's mansion. In fact, it appeared that the guests were not bade farewell by anyone at the door when they left.

Another thing the recon team noticed was that the fundraising staff had instructed the partygoers to park their cars inside the Danish Embassy's property directly across the street, which they did.

I'm not sure, but it seems that a foriegn government was providing an in-kind contribution to Hillary's fundraiser.

The party ended around 8:30 p.m. The departing guests who saw the anti-Hillary protesters as they drove away gave mixed reactions to them. Some called out their support for Hillary, while others swore at the protesters.

One woman, an elegant, fiftyish looking blonde beauty, leaned over to the protesters as she was chauffered past them and angrily jabbed her middle finger at them from behind the rear seat window of her sedan. It was sad to see such a lack of class from one of Hillary's upper class political sorority sisters, but not surprising.

President Bush gave a televised speech to the nation while the fundraiser was going on. Perhaps that contributed to the sour mood of some of Hillary's guests. One can only surmise how Her Heinous reacted to the speech; but judging from her disrespectful demeanor during his speech to a joint session of Congress last month, she was probably saying things like, "Yeah, George, let's roll--right over the rights of women, minorities and children."

The Honor Roll for tonight: Angelwood, Marylander, Doctor Raoul, Gore_War_Vet, BufordP, Jimmy Valentine's brother, NoDemocratsIn2000, sauropod, tgslTakoma, staytrue, The Glaswegian (+2) and kristinn.

A fundraiser? Let's see in the past 18 months the stockmarket has lost about 5 trillion dollars. Everybodies Mutual Fund is in the red for the year. Major League Baseball wants to dump 2 teams (which means the minor league teams they support). Everybody is asking for a government bailout. The world is in a recession. Who knows when WWIII will be over. Leave it to Hillary to sponsor a Fundraiser and expect a crowd to attend. DUH!

I believe she's scared of YOU...........

Not if Sally Quinn has anything to say about it.

Sorry to be ignorant, but what do you mean?! I do understand the "money-laundering" theory, and all things considered, that makes a lot of sense to me...

Not if Sally Quinn has anything to say about it.

Well, that's two of us who knew immediately why Hillary can't get anyone to come to her parties.

Easiest way to get on Sally's 'S' list is to go to a Hillary party. Sally has a lot more money, has much better parties, and is going to be around a very long time.

Outstanding - that you were all there; that the 'rats are finally realizing it's time to flee the sinking ship; and that we get to read about it on FR because we sure as heck aren't going to see this in the papers or on TV.

Another successful FReep! Thank you all for being there tonight, and for posting your detailed report. Did you have the same signs as last night?

Way to go DC FReepers!

The way her-henious has been pissing off her subjects, you guys will be out of a job soon. :)

Hope you tipped the Washington Times and Fox News on this Bilery bomb of a no-funds raiser. I'm sure they would love to rub this embarrassment in her snobish nose.

I once saw an interview in which SQ responded to questions about Hillary and Hillary's DC house. Her answers sounded polite, but were withering. I think you have something there.

What does Sally Quinn have to do with it, I'm from Midland, Texas and we don't know who she is, just that Bush is from here, both of them!
