And many black parents are understandably reluctant to pay tens of thousands of dollars to subject their children to such humiliation.

This is the most disengenious statement in Cynthia's column. Can you say Pell Grant? Can you say Student Loan? Can you say "Athletic Scholarship"?

The first thing which needs to be done is demonstrate why I described you as a liar. This is something I do not normally accuse people of but in your case it needs to be said and said with emphasis!

Here is an exact quote from you. Before I post it, I want to say that it is not only a lie but you knew it was a lie when you posted it. Here it is: "I noticed that none of accounts mention that the victim was raped or molested in any way"

Here is an exact quote from the article you posted on reply #65. "...was assaulted by 3 Negro brutes while on her way to school, and after accomplishing their fiendish purposes the black imps clubbed their innocent little victim to death."

I am sure you consider that article which you somehow think backs up you, to be talking about having a tea party with her. What it is talking about (and you know this as well as I) was so depraved that the author could only use a euphemism, knowing everyone would know exactly what she was saying.

Now for you Mr. BS Hambone.

This is an exact quote from you. BTW although it starts out by saying let me give you another story, you make it clear later that it is indeed the same story although you were not aware of it when you posted this dishonest drivel. "A White woman yelled rape. It was a Black man. The men of this North Florida community came to save her honor and started killing the accused. Now they didn't have a great description so any Black man would do and they killed a bunch. BTW the honorable woman had been stepping out on her husband and almost got caught--easier for her to cry rape and accuse a Black man than admit adultry."

Of course the printing of the newspaper story shows that every single word, heck even every single period and comma are lies. your story is exactly what I predicted would be the scenario if the tale were to be made into a movie. I hope you are ashamed of yourself for printing that pack of lies, but suspect you will attempt somehow to justify it.

Now Mr. Hillary? you have slandered me and my family. I have never made even the slightest threat to anyone on this forum but if you want to come see me I would love to see you. I will make you as welcome as you deserve.

You're getting pretty desperate, aren't you?

In context, the statement I made is:

Regarding the Pensacola account, Yarddog was quick to say that it was probably distorted due to the conventions of the day. I noticed that none of the accounts mention that the victim was raped or molested in any way.

You seem to have a need to equate shedding light on the lynching of three black men in Florida as a further victimization of poor Bessie Morrison. I think that's sad. I hope you get help. In the meantime, as I said earlier, you will be in my prayers.

Oops! Looks like I missed one.

Now Mr. Hillary? you have slandered me and my family.

Your lack of education is showing through. Slander involves making false statments that are injurous to another's reputation. Yet we agree on all the facts of the case; that your grandmother had a cousin named Bessie Mae, who was the victim of a heinous crime for which three (or was it four?) black men were killed by an angry mob. The only things we disagree on are the attitude of the mob, the cruely of the murder, and the accuracy of oral history vs. the historical record.

In fact, it is you who have repeatedly slandered me and my family, referring to myself by several nasty names and my family as white trash. This doesn't bother me, for it obviously isn't true, however, your sanctimonious act does make me ill. Regardless, I have taken great pains to back my claims with historical documents. Perhaps you might return the favor.

I have never made even the slightest threat to anyone on this forum but if you want to come see me I would love to see you. I will make you as welcome as you deserve.

I'd be happy to oblige you. Just post your address and I will be there at 3 PM on Saturday.

It is hard for me to believe you would make such an obvious lie. I never made any statement regarding the Pensacola Journal account being distorted. Why don't you find my statement and quote it exactly.

You can't because you are lying.

You are absolutely correct. You did not make any statement regarding the Pensacola Journal account being distorted. What you actually said was:

My Father still has the "Pensacola Journal" report on the incident. Of course you are so biased that any account of that time would not be acceptable.

I misread your statment to read that you felt the Pensacola Journal account was biased. My apologies.

I still await your apology for misrepresenting my statement on news conventions of the time to read that I doubted your grandmother's cousin had been sexually assaulted. I also await your address for this Saturday. As I said in my mail, there will be no need for directions. I can read a map just fine.

Actually, all I have is an intersection, 179a and Hwy 2 in Holmes County, FL. Nevertheless, my brother and I will be there at 3 PM on Saturday. I drive a black Lexus. I am 6'5" and 220, with short black hair. My brother looks like a shorter version of myself. I will be wearing a red polo shirt. My brother will be armed and is along just in case you decide to relive any family history. Assuming you have the nerve to show up prepared for a fair fight, he will not be involved. He will also be serve as a witness should you choose to file assault charges once we're done.

How will I know you?

I wonder how the writer knows this?

Cuz they were posted on the photographer's web site.

I find it interesting that posting these pictures was seen as such a crime, yet there are prominently posted at Tolerance.org. Shouldn’t they be removed?

If we are talking about the unmarked graves atop Hudson Hill - then your story is correct - and mine was a bunch of hooey. If we are not - then I'll still will have to wonder how they got there.

Please stop responding to this moron (Hillary). He/she is engaged in temporal mind reading and speculation designed to make events fit with its world view.

There is a mindset out there that enjoys characterizing turn-of-the-century Southerners as bigoted yahoos who had sex with their cousins during the day and only stopped to hang the nearest available Negro at night. Eyewitness accounts, contemporaneous history, all will be disregarded in favor of what “Hillary” imagines in its fervid imagination should be true.

"This incident offers a striking lesson on the continuing racial divide across the American landscape -- a reminder of how far we've come and how far we still must go to close the gap. "

Why are these boys racists? They are too young to have experienced segregation. So are their parents. They were socialized from infancy on anti-racist programs such as Sesame Street, Mr. Rogers, and Bill Cosby.

Does a gap "still" exist? Or are there new factors independent of the past that are creating new racists out of children?

Why do they hate us?

Excellent question. I think you know the answer.

I agree with you 100%.

And to the rest, try visiting a black nightclub, and see what happens.

Lesson in Racism my a$$! This was intended to be a lesson in taking one's self and life too seriously. As long as some who have earned no respect, demand unmerited respect from those whom they themselves hold in contempt-their reward rightfully and justifullibly should be mockery.

Portraying rectums as anuses is not racism.
