Sounds nasty...
Anyone know this Frontier Post?
Is it reliable?

'Sounds nasty...'
What REALLY sounds nasty is that Bill Clinton thinks we deserve to get bombed for stuff someone else did 100 years ago. We know who the enemy is, it is just a question of punishing them.

The weapon identified is small 8-kilogram device that carries at least 2 kg of fissionable plutonium and uranium. The device, of Russian make, carries a serial number 9999 and manufacturing date October 1988. The design of the device is simple. The radioactive materials consist of Uranium and Plutonium both kept in separate compartments. I think this is utter, complete BS. Read "The Making of the Atom Bomb" and other common sources. In particular, pay attention to how difficult controlled implosions were to acheive.
Uranium or Plutonium. Can't make up their mind?
carries a serial number 9999
Umm, yeah, sure.

As I understand Nukes, Plutonium is only used in a Fussion Device not a Fission Device. The data is flawed; as is the report. I also understand that the Soviet So-Called "Suite Case Bombs" required constant upkeep to feep them functional.

These guys sense the end game is quickly approaching for them. They are striking out with fear. Their threat to use nukes (or bio) if we nukes (or bio) means only one thing: they are well entrenched in deep caves and know the only thing that will take them out without the fight they want is a nuke (or bio/chem). They intend to go down with their own initiated big bang. But not without first causing on-the-ground troop losses to go up with them. I say, nuke (orbio/chem) the b*stards in the hills with small scale tactical nukes or bio/chem. If they really do have nukes here, NOTHING will stop them from using them anyway. This is a battle of time. The sooner they get them, the sooner they will use them. we need to eliminate ALL of these organizations and countries that support this mentality. It is us or them. Let's roll.

As I understand Nukes, Plutonium is only used in a Fussion Device not a Fission Device You understand incorrectly. Either can be used in a fission device. The first atomic bomb, the Trinity device, was a plutonium fission device. Of the next two, used at Hiroshima and Nagasaki, one was a uranium bomb, the other a plutonium one. In a thermonuclear, that is fusion, bomb, a fission bomb is the trigger for the fusion bomb, and could be of either type, but I think most are plutonium. A three stage device may have a non fisionable uranium outerlayer, that is converted to a fissionable material by the actions of the neutrons from the fusion stage. The latter is nasty, dirty, very powerfull, and probably way too big for a suitcase device.
However use of both plutonium and uranium in a single device, other than a 3 stage one, doesn't seem likely, but them I'm no expert, and if I was, I wouldn't be able to tell you anyway.

It melts human body meat to the bone. If nothing else gave it away as a goofball piece, this surely did. Sounds like something out of the e-mail urban legend bin.

Plutonium was used in one of the earliest fission bombs. Fusion bombs are set off by a fission trigger, which can be Uranium or Plutonium.
If Al-Qaeda has nukes, it figures that they would already be over here, since there is considerable evidence that the terrorist strikes against the Trade Towers culminated five or ten years of planning. And there's no reason to think they don't, considering the number of warheads around when the Soviet Union collapsed, and the huge amounts of money Bin Ladin has to buy these things.
It would make me feel better if the FBI, CIA, and INS hadn't been severely compromised during the clinton years, loaded down at the top levels with ignorant, corrupt, and incompetent people. They are STILL fiddling around trying to figure a way to blame the anthrax attacks on the Right-to-Life movement, following their little domestic agendas, while our country could be on the verge of catastrophe.

pay attention to how difficult controlled implosions were to acheive But a gun type device is relatively easy, which separate compartments sounds kinda, sorta like. Still you are probably right, complete BS. The dual material types just doesn't sit right..Unless one of them is the real bomb, and the other is radioactive stuff to get spread around, but that doesn't seem likely either.

Who do we hit with OUR nukes? Egypt? It's leading Muslim leader has issued a fatwa AGAINST OBL. Syria? It's a member of the coalition against terrorism and the UN Security Council. Palestine? GWB hasn't built it yet and too close to Isreal. Iraq? No proof of involvement and most Iraqis hate Saddam. Jordan and Turkey? They are supplying troops to us. Afghanistan? the Taliban are too close to civilains and Pakistan. So who do we hit?

Maybe someone can clear up something for me.
Isn't plutonium and weapons grade uranium extremely radioactive? If so, How is it shielded in a suitcase sized device of reasonable weight.
It seems to me that anyone spending any time around one would be committing suicide. Not only that, but the device would be emitting a 'signature' making its presence known.
Am I wrong?

They are said to be in possession of at least 70 capsules, also of Russian origin, containing a very lethal biological agent. Broken in a crowded place, this capsule can cause deaths on a huge scale.
It melts human body meat to the bone.
Not that I don't doubt this article (ok, I totally doubt it), but what exactly would this be?

"If nothing else gave it away as a goofball piece, this surely did. Sounds like something out of the e-mail urban legend bin." OTOH, a common description of EBOLA is that it dissolves human tissue. Maybe not technically accurate, but certainly descriptive.

EXCELLENT POINT The presence of the huge quantity of Clintonian liberal fools in key national security positions at this time is an extreme grave national security threat. Not only do these morons limit the effectiveness of the agencies we ALL depend upon, but since Bush hasn't done much to 'clean house', the positions they fill are not even accessable to the 'voice of reason'.

"...melts human body meat to the bone."Human body meat?!?!??? Hey Wait Just A DARN Minute!!!!! That's the kind I have!!!!!! ROFL
Yes I believe you're right. A sentence like that isn't exactly the hallmark of serious reporting, is it?

It seems to me that anyone spending any time around one would be committing suicide. Not only that, but the device would be emitting a 'signature' making its presence known. Am I wrong? U235 emits gamma rays at .185 and .204 MeV. Pu239 emits gamma at a whole series of energies from .039 to .77 MeV.
In addition to this, spontaneuos decay of subcritical fuels assemblies make such a device thermally HOT to handle.
I would be more concerned with a cargo container than a suitcase. Yes, we can make tactical warheads in the kiloton range fit in an artillery projectile, BUT:
1: We have been researching these warheads with nearly unlimited resources for fifty+ Years.
2: Realistically we can survive fifty hits with these..we are a BIG country. And we have one warhead for every WTC Victim!
And then we would have a hunting license, the moral authority to use it, and our revenge would be fierce and absolutely total.
