Daschle Christmas Vacation watch
Fox - Hannity & Colmes | 12-20-01 | Self

Posted on 12/20/2001 5:50:04 PM PST by det dweller too

After watching Newt & Sean discussing how Daschle, [$175K/yr] and wife [$250K/yr] will have a wonderful christmas while he single-handedly stopped the economic stimulus package from coming to a vote that would pass, I got an idea. How about starting a Daschle-watch over the holidays. We'll need freeper helpers from his home state to give us updates on how much enjoyment they are having while the rest of the country sloggs through the misery of a dull economy. We are not little kids and we can survive this crappy period, but the contrast would really get people to see what kind of person Daschle is; that he would rather see all the citizens of this country suffer through hard times just to maintain political advantage for his party.

If Registered were around, he could do a "Where's Daschle" illustration like "Where's Waldo?"

I bet we could get this on Fox.

"Renaissance weekend is in Charleston SC"

It used to be in Hilton Head SC over and including New Year's Eve. Did they change it? Wonder if Bill and Hill will attend this year? Or will Hillary stay in NYC and horn in on Rudy's photo ops?

I don't think Puff has a real home in SD. I heard he was using his mother's place (very modest place) as his address but rarely stays there.

425k/yr------ it's time all of those rich americans started paying their fair share.

I wonder what he pays in social security taxes and what his pension looks like?

Do you suppose he has medical insurance to go with that?

What percent of his income do you think these items would ammount to?

So what is his "real world" income?

Reg ~~~ your services are being requested. Contact Miss Marple for the details.

I really like this idea ..... :-)

Btw, to those saying that Daschle uses his mother's address and really lives in the Carolinas ... I believe that is Gephardt ..... and I've heard that his actual residence is at Figure 8 Island off the coast of NC .... a very expensive and exclusive island where people like Ambulance Chaser John Edwards live. Howlin, can you confirm or refute that?

The best thing to do is to somehow get coverage in his home state paper, what is it called, the Argus Leader? He and his staff went ape-sh#t the other day when Bush staffers gave exclusive interviews to his home paper which slammed him. Daschle is REAL careful to guard SD newspaper and local tv coverage at all costs; negative press locally really gets his goat. So let's get his goat.

Here is ArgusLeader.com, Sioux Falls, S.D.

Interesting little survey there..... "Should the U.S. Senate have let the economic stimulus package die?"

90% say no, right now.....

Here is a link to the print press in South Dakota

now off to look for the broadcasters......

Good night!

Just FYI I don't know if it's just my computer but I have never been able to get onto his paper's website just by using the regular www.argusleader.com address -- it clicks over to a popup ad EVERY time. But I found I was able to defeat that "glitch" (a-hem) by going to

http://www.argusleader.com/indexnews.shtml

and navigating from there.

Well, of course I realize that the economy functions quite well without the government. That is not the point. They are hoping they can hang this recession on W. I say that we have now been given the opportunity to hang it on the democrats, with Daschle as their flag-bearer!

I am now off to search schedules! I hope to have the first edition ready tomorrow!

Actually, Miss Jane, we only need to pin this on little Tommy himself. We do not even need to explain that the recession started under the last administration, we only need to show that the current administration is trying to fix the problem and where the hang-up is located. In fact, we may not even have to point too strongly on where the hang-up is at, just point out that the house voted on 2 economic stimulus packages, and show the bi-partisan support for the first and that the President promised to sign it, then the increased bi-partisan support for the second. The people will figure out for themselves that if the House agrees and the White House agrees, then there are not a lot of options as to why this bill was not passed.

I have been waiting for an economic stimulus package to pass since around September 11th. It did not take me very long to realize that what I saw on the news that day was going to end my job. Up until Thursday last week I worked for Boeing in the Commercial Airplanes Division. Yes, I could have worked up until Friday last week, but decided to early out by one day. I knew then, and I know now, that what I need is a job. The best and fastest way to get a job is to entice businesses to hire. There really is not any enticement needed when taxes are cut are made because businesses tend to take tax relief and re-invest it in their businesses. That, in essence means, they hire more people.

Please flag me with your schedules and any info on what I can do to help little Tommy work a little bit harder for the American Workers.

Jane

There was an article in the Charleston paper about the change of location. It will be held in downtown Charlestown. I couldn't find out anything else about it.

I sure can. He has a HUGE house on Figure Eight. So does John Edwards. And believe me, they do NOT come cheap; they start at $800,000 minimum!

Ill-gotten gains, IMO.

This proposed campaign against Daschle will be most effective IMHO.

Why not start a similar one against Edwards here in NC?

His $millions + $luxurious island home + $5000 pay raise + vote against the bill that would help NC residents = fodder for dulling the shine on his "compassion" for the working man.

Let's Roll! The NC Republican Party and Bill Colby will be interested in our grass roots effort. Let's contact them, check Edwards' schedule and holiday activities, and start a letter writing campaign to local newspapers which are notoriously bereft of news items during the holidays.
