My Aunt has cancer - alternative treatment knowledge wanted

My aunt has cancer and is currently undergoing traditional treatment. To date, it does not appear to be working. At Christmas dinner, I was told she was contemplating looking into alternative treatments, specifically one offered at St. Georg Hospital in Germany. There, they offer Whole Body Hyperthermia.

From the literature Hyperthermia appears to be a process where the entire body (except the head) is super heated to 106 or 107 degrees. I have absolutely no medical background whatsoever. So I was hoping for two things to come from my post. 1) Does anyone know about the success or lack thereof of this procedure or know about St. Georg Hospital. 2) does anyone have any good suggestions for other possible alternative treatments.

In case its helpful, although I don't have all the details, I think the cancer started in the uterus, but has now spread to the lungs and elsewhere.

Hello, I'm so sorry to hear of your aunt. The father of a close friend of mine lived longer than expected (several years) possibly by supplementing his chemo/radiation, etc with shark cartilage treatments.

A doctor or scientist on Cape Cod has championed this research on the premise that few sharks ever get cancer. His book, "Sharks Don't Get Cancer" has loads of info - his name is I. William Lane.

It is important to note that he does not advocate relinquishing traditional therapies, but instead offers this an an alternative to augment the treatment. Prayers for you and your aunt.

My wife suffered for seven years with multiple myeloma(bone cancer). She passed away in June of this year. Soon after she was diagnost, a friend of a friend, told us about the Hoxey Clinic. It started in Texas the early part of the last century.

It had a lot of success with terminal patients. However, the FDA harassed them out of the country a number of years ago. My wife's disease, being a terminal disease, left us no choice but to try everything available.

We attended the Hoxey clinic for two and a half years. During that time the factor dropped enough so She didn't have to have Chemo. One day there they told us the tonic was not working anymore. We got a second opinion from the Mayo Clinic and they confirmed that. They are also aware of the Hoxsey Clinic, and had nothing negative to say about it.

Interesting site. I find it ironic that they take "health food stores" and such to task for "pushing" vitamins and related items on a "gullible" public, in pursuit of the almighty dollar. I have had the opportunity on many occasions to bear witness to many sales representatives of pharmaceutical cartels doing the same to doctors all over our great land. They bribe doctors and their staffs with pizzas, boxes of doughtnuts, et al, in order to sell them on the latest "miracle" from "sanctioned" drug manufacturers. How can the folks at "Quackwatch" condemn the health food community for practicing the same methodology employed by the pharmaceutical cartels?

Sounds like the real killer variety. Same thing took my mother over a year ago. Has she been feeling bad the last year?

And what is her age, can she handle aggressive chemotherapy.

That is probably the only thing that can save her but it will put her on the edge of life.

There are an awful lot of alternative therapies out there...good luck. I believe that one shouldn't discount either traditional western treatments or eastern methods. One of the hardest treatments to follow, but which has very good long term effects, is switching to a macrobiotic diet...there have been many books written by physicians and patients who have overcome their cancers and other illness using a macrobiotic approach. There is no one practioner or hospital for this, so you can't really be scammed...but as I said, the food and diet require the patient to dramatically change their eating habits.
Another therapy that has been effective, and is not as carcinogenic as chemotherapy to the whole body, is the use of mistletoe as the chemo base....I know some people who went over the boarder to canada to obtain this treatment. Contact a physician who has studied anthroposophic medicine as well for more info.

Essiac is an herbal tea developed by a Canadian Nurse named Caisse in the 1940s. It is an immune system builder and has a reputation of curing cancer. Nurse Caisse visited indigenous indian tribes in Canada to offer her Medical services and on a trip there she examined an old woman with scars on her breasts. Asked what the scars were from the woman told her she had cancer but could not afford treatment. An Indian Medicine man gave her the tea and it cured the cancer.

Nurse Caisse investigated and refind the tea and it is sold in liquid form (if it is the real thing). She never sold the formula to the drug companies because she didn't trust them, but there are some Canadian doctors to whom she gave the formula, now living in USA. They do not practice medicine, but I do believe one of them is in Ft.Lauderdale Fl.. His name is Pierre Gaulin.

I too know of several people cured by the tea. My best friend was beyond curing but it gave her a year of pain free life she would not have enjoyed.

There are a lot of fakes out there so watch out. It costs about $40.00 for four bottles, if I remember correctly. It is not bad tasting. Good luck and God help you with your search.

Just had 5th Chemo treatment Thursday.
White count low.
T cells not right
Very sick.

I was wanting to find supplements that help replace what chemo does, and also things for nauseua (marijuana shake?), and immune boosters. Also what are recommended extracted organic juice combinations to speed absorption of whatever is lacking and/or needed.

Not only that, but one must never forget that oncology is a huge money-making industry and doesn't take kindly to losing customers and money. They have shut down several alternative cancer treatment websites like www.christianbrothers.com and www.worldwithoutcancer.com. - for our safety, of course.

However, they don't seem to have a problem with OTHER quack treatments and phony products, like diet pills and breast enlarging creams.

Thanks for the site reference. I agree with the mental aspect of things. I remember one of those 60 minutes type programs a few years ago about a boy who had a brain tumor. A doctor told him to play a mental video game every night before he went to bed. He was told to picture the tumor and play a space invaders type game, by visualizing the constant bombardment of the tumor until it evaporated/exploded.

The boy did this for about 3 months. One night, he went to play his "game" but he couldn't visualize the tumor. Subsequently, he had a CAT scan done, and miraculously, the tumor was gone. The power of the mind must be pretty awesome when focused. Anyway, thanks again.

I don'y have any more than a name I recall: Stanislaus Brezinski- an M.D. who has been on Ken Hamblin's show a few years ago with what seemed to be an effective treatment of malignancies that had failed to respond to conventional treatments.
