I am old enough to remember Will Rogers and this President is the closest to his personality of any political figure I have witnessed. Their ability to communicate with the common citizen is a gift few are ever endowed with. We are blessed to have this President in these explosive times.

I saw him, too. That is an excellent point. I only know Will Rogers from film clips, but I think you have hit the nail on the head.
He has a gift for explaining complicated issues in terms the average person can understand.

Excellent website on Will Rogers. www.willrogers.org/

Thanks... but we have others that are called the greatest communicators that have to have people to come behind them and explain what they said or meant. One of the main challenges of communicating is getting it down to the lowest denominator to which the common person can understand or comprehend. I agree few can do it on a routine basis.

"Cobby,TexasNative - keep quiet about the legend..... lol!" Shucks......okay!!
I'll just say that the last time I passed TT old Will was still on his horse, so the last graduating class of girls must have enjoyed themselves sexually at least once.
See, I didn't tell the legend!!
And I'll say that that Uncle George is exactly right, and I've thought that myself.

Will's famous sayings are as true today as they were 70 years ago; "We all elect a President, be they Republican or Democrat, then start daring em to make good" Does this sound current?
To: Uncle George
Absolutely..... sounds like a lot on FR who think the President was supposed to snap his fingers and make changes happen immediately.....

My favorite Will Rogers quote of all:
"Buy land, they're not making it anymore"
To: Uncle George
Thank you Uncle George.

Buy land, they're not making it any more. I'd have to say that's my favorite too. Will was quite a guy and would have been a great FReeper, although some of his threads may have been yanked for being too humourous.

I found these Will Rogers quotes, thought it appropriate ot post them:
"I never met a man I didn't like"
To: Uncle George
Sigh ... I don't know why so many people think any president is king.
