Letter to the Republican National Committee

Posted on 02/22/2002 12:19:59 PM PST by Be active

Robert M. Duncan - Treasurer Republican National Committee 310 First Street, Southwest Washington, DC 20003 Dear Mr. Duncan: It was with great amusement that I opened and read your fund-raising "form letter". (Copy attached for reference). Until recently, I had been a life-long Republican. I am a member of the National Rifle Association, and a practicing Electronics Engineer. I am "straight". I have no body-piercing, nose-rings or green-dyed hair. The only "drug" that I do is an occasional beer in the evening. I am a father of two small children. I am an American of European ancestry. I love my country. In a nutshell, I don't fit the "Democratic Party Mold" and I am like many of the Republican Party's former "core supporters" whose interests and needs have been dropped like a dirty diaper by the Republican Party. Let's have a brief look at some of the "great things" the Republican Party has done in the past few years: In both 1998 and in 2000, Republicans in Congress, ever hungry for High Tech Soft Dollars, played a key role in passing legislation which permitted American High Tech firms to import ever larger numbers of foreign high-tech workers into our domestic job market, under the so-called "H-1B Visa" Foreign Worker program. These Foreign Workers compete against Americans for a limited (now dwindling) supply of jobs, depress wages for Americans working in high tech, and increase underemployment and unemployment for American workers. It is now standard practice for high tech companies like Hewlett-Packard, Intel, IBM, Motorola, Microsoft, etc. to fire "old" American High Tech workers over the age of 35 or 40 and replace us with younger, cheaper foreign H-1B workers from places like India, China, Pakistan, Russia, etc. The first increase in this H-1B Visa limit took place in 1998. Then, in the Fall of 2000, when abundant evidence suggested that our economy was headed toward a sharp downturn, Republican Senator Orrin Hatch (Utah) and Republican Senator Spencer Abraham (Michigan) introduced a bill (S.2045) that was passed by a Republican-controlled Congress, which yet again nearly doubled the annual limit on the number of foreign high tech workers brought into this country up to 195,000 the second doubling of this limit in two years. During our present economic recession, massive numbers of American Citizens are being laid off and replaced by these H-1B Foreign Workers and despite the massive, record-breaking layoffs of Americans now taking place throughout the United States, during the past year, American companies have brought in a record number of foreign H-1B workers over 163,000. The Republican Party played a central role in making this happen. Republican Senator Spencer Abraham of Michigan was formerly Chair of the Senate Subcommittee on Immigration. When in that position, Republican Spencer Abraham fought and killed any attempts to clean up our immigration system to appease his pals in Big Business. When in office, Senator Abraham gutted a proposed law that would have made it easier to track terrorists like those who brought us the events of September 11th. Spencer Abraham was defeated in his 2000 Senate race, in part, by immigration-reduction groups that spent in excess of $1 million dollars in print, TV and radio ads, which educated the voters of Michigan about Spencer's willingness to give their jobs to foreign workers in exchange for corporate "soft dollars". Now, Spencer Abraham, an "open borders" mass-immigration advocate, is the Bush Administration's Secretary of Energy, and responsible for safeguarding our country's nuclear secrets! The person who helped bring us September 11th - a Republican Senator - is now responsible for the safety of our nuclear facilities. Republican President George W. Bush and his administration have consistently pushed for various "guestworker" programs (read that amnesty,) for the estimated 11 million illegal aliens living in the United States, with the idea that this will give Republicans more of the elusive "hispanic vote" either with U.S. Citizens of "hispanic" background, or illegal aliens who vote fraudulently. President George W. Bush is the first President in the history of the United States Of America to give an official address in a foreign language President Bush's radio addresses are now broadcast in Spanish. The Bush Administration and the Republican Party are more interested in ethnic pandering to a select, small voting block via rewarding illegal alien lawbreakers with various forms of an amnesty, than in the safety and well-being of the American people. Even now, in a post September 11th America, George W. Bush continues to push to "regularize" "migration" between Mexico and the United States. Does the President think that Americans are so stupid that if he refers to an Amnesty as a "guestworker program" or "regularization of migration between Mexico and the United States" we'll all buy it? U.S. Government Census Bureau statistics show that the population of the United States will hit nearly half a billion people by the year 2050. These same Census Bureau numbers show that at least 75% of this federally-forced population growth is due to legal immigration (immigrants and their descendents). Between 1925 and 1965, the United States took in, on average, less than 200,000 legal immigrants per year. Today, when our country is running out of water, jobs, housing, classroom space, natural resources, access to medical care, etc., we take in nearly 1 Million legal immigrants per year, which is 5 times higher than our traditional levels. In addition, hundreds of thousands of various "temporary workers" and illegal aliens pour into the United States each year. Despite the fact that polls show most Americans want legal immigration reduced to traditional levels and illegal immigration stopped, Republicans presently favor the continuation of present day mass-immigration policies. The Republicans in Congress and the Bush Administration are willing to send our young people thousands of miles to fight and possibly die in a "war on terrorism" while neither Congress or the Bush Administration shows any interest in securing our nation's own borders here at home. Even after the events of September 11th, our borders are wide-open. Big Business wants an "open border" policy to keep labor costs down, regardless of what such a policy means to the safety and well-being of the vast majority of the American People, and the Republican Party, hungry for cash and "soft dollars", is more than happy to go along with Big Business, Open-Borders Agenda. Mr. Duncan, to summarize, you and the Republican party stand for the following: The destruction of the livelihoods and well-being of American workers and their families via massive importation of foreign labor under the H-1B program, An open-borders policy with guaranteed non-enforcement of our existing immigration laws, including various sorts of deceptively named amnesties for illegal aliens, including "guestworker" programs, and continuation of present mass-immigration policies that will crowd the United States with half a billion people by the year 2050, A Globalist Agenda which further guts America's self-sufficiency, job base, manufacturing capability, and sovereignty a policy which de-industrializes America Base, nauseating ethnic pandering to "the hispanic voting block" Mr. Duncan, now that American manufacturing jobs are gone, and our high tech jobs are being taken by cheap labor in the form of Foreign Workers imported onto our own soil under the Republican-supported H-1B Visa program, what kinds of educational and job opportunities will my two children be able to look forward to when they are older? Will they have to root through garbage dumps for scraps of food on the outskirts of some fabulously wealthy "gated community" where people like you live? Do you and your pals in the GOP look forward to the day when the United States resembles places like Brazil, where the fabulously wealthy live behind walls and razor-wire, and the majority of people live in filth, squalor, crime, cruelty and poverty outside these walls? Please remove my name from your mailing list. Why in hell would I want to give any money to an organization that is bent on destroying my livelihood, my children,s future, and my country? But wait - before taking my name off of your mailing list, could you kindly send me one of these fund-raising letters printed in Spanish? I would like to show this kind of thing around to some of my Republican neighbors who are losing their jobs to H-1B Foreign Workers in the midst of this economic downturn, while simultaneously seeing their taxes pay for handouts for illegal aliens in the form of free taxpayer-funded public education for the children of illegals, free emergency medical services for illegals including free medical care for illegal alien women giving birth to a baby on U.S. soil in order to gain access to taxpayer-funded services for her automatic-U.S. Citizen-by-birth "anchor-baby", free, taxpayer-funded "day laborer centers", drivers licenses for illegals, taxpayer-funded Department of Motor Vehicle Handbooks, voting pamphlets and other government printed materials printed in Spanish, taxpayer funded incarceration of illegal alien felons that the INS will not deport, despite Federal Law requiring the deportation of such people, taxpayer-funded "bilingual education" and "diversity and tolerance" programs, and of course, reduced-rate college tuition for the children of illegal aliens (now law in California a child of an illegal alien in California who graduates from a California high school will be required to pay lower tuition to a California state college or university than a U.S. Citizen from another state outside of California would), etc. Instead of trying to get cash out of the very people that you and the Republican Party are screwing, why don't you shake down some more High Tech Companies for additional "soft dollars" in exchange for more cash-and-carry legislation, like Orrin Hatch and Spencer Abraham's H-1B Foreign Worker Bill "S.2045 ?" This worked remarkably well for the Republican (and Democratic) Parties in the past two election cycles. In closing, please keep in mind how close the last Presidential election was. (I voted for Bush, by the way ! That won't happen again!!) The next election won't be so easy no matter how much more ethnic pandering you folks go in for. Even by 2004, "Hispanics" will only make up about 14% of the total population, and the overwhelming majority of these who a) can vote and b) actually get off their butts and make it to the voting booths have always and will continue to vote the Democratic Ticket. You people don't realize how badly you have pissed off large numbers of your core supporters, and your stupidity in blindly pursuing a voting block which has a long history of supporting the Democrats by large margins will be your ruin. I look forward to seeing the GOP go down the tubes in 2004. You see, I and thousands of other pissed-off former Republicans like me need to do nothing more than sit home on voting day to help reduce George W. Bush's chances of re-election. Think about it. The last presidential election already had thousands of Republicans "sitting out" in disgust. The difference of only a few hundred votes could be very important. Given how badly you and your GOP buddies are screwing your traditional base of support, maybe having a Democrat-Freak-Show in the White House as well as the House and Senate couldn't be any worse. The 2004 election should prove to be very interesting! P.S. The slogan to be bandied about in the 2004 election is "It's the Immigration, Stupid" Have A Nice Day,

I didn't write the letter but it expresses my sentiments. The Republicans are taking their core voters for granted and forgeting their principals to get votes. It may work, but this is one Republican who is sitting out the election. I hope the Republicans become the minority party again. They REALLY NEED to be taught a lesson not to turn into Democrats.

Before someone flames you to no end...

Let me suggest that formatting this letter with paragraph breaks "< p >" would really encourage more people to read what you have to say.

Paragraphs can be our friends.

Use a simple < p > and leave out the spaces.

this is one Republican who is sitting out the election

Your screen name is "Be active", you can't sit out the election. There are still some great conservative Republicans worth voting for, and if you can't find any then look for some conservative third party candidates to vote for. I personally support the Constitution Party candidates and will vote for any candidate that is a TRUE conservative.

I too left the GOP last election, but I choose to support the Constitution Party http://www.constitutionparty.com.

Pat was going to join the Constitution Party till he found out that they don't accept Federal Tax Dollars, which the Reform Party won't receive this next election, I wonder if Pat will come back to the Constitution Party now.

I've been getting form begging letters...I've been sending them "funny money" and telling them that they keep sending me socialist rino's for my county government that keep raising my taxes while voting themselves 50% pay raises. And until they CUT my taxes by 50% the "funny" money is all I've got to contribute to anyones campaign. I sign it, Nay Saying Ninny, Neandertahl Horn Honker, Bled Dry Taxpayer...which I may change to TaxSerf.

I very much like that idea! I'm conservative, usually vote Rebulican... but I always vote. And like you, I do not like the way the government never stops metastatizing....

Put on your asbestos, GailA.

But you're right. Repubs left what made them great. They'll have to get back to the way they used to be if they want to cintinue to grow without turning further socialist/vote buyers.

Flame protection on.

I refuse to vote for SOCIALIST republicans because there AIN'T a whits worth of difference between a SOCIALIST republican and a demon-rat. A connservative Ronald Reagan Republican is another matter. BUT I don't get to chose who they put up for election. Since all they send me is tax and spender socialists, I'll just vote for the Liberterian on the ballot in protest.

I am a New York transplant to Ohio. I am very happy to NOT have Hillary Clinton as my Senator. But, I have George Voinovich and Mike DeWine. In many cases, if the light is in my eyes a little, I can't tell the difference between Hillary and them.

My Republican Congressman, S LaTourette, crossed over and voted with the Dems on Campaign Finance Reform.

My governor, BIG TENT TAFT, deliberately, arbitrarily and unilaterally chose a pro death city councilwoman from Columbus in the last week.

I have withdrawn from the RNC, (it's just a money sink anyway), and from the Ohio Republican Party. If you ever get lonely, join either of these organizations, send it some money, and then tell them you quit. You will no longer be lonely as your phone will ring off the hook when succesively more glib phone whores call you and try to win you back.

I voted for George Bush in 2000 after having a Constitution Party stick on my car throughout the campaign, after working for Alan Keyes up through the primary. I didn't want Al Gore to win.

That is absolutely the last time that I will vote for someone because he isn't as bad as the other guy. I now vote my conscience. If the Dems win because I don't vote for a Republican that I don't agree with, so be it. I think this is the only way the Republican Party will listen.

Although it's called a "protest vote" to some, it defeats repubs. IMHO it's the option we have left if we desire change. I mean, why would you continue to vote for someone whose actions are socialistic?

The only way to aquire an office is to get the vote. I would much rather have a Republican in office trying to push the agenda than have Algore in office while the Repubs twiddle their thumbs.

Don't blame you a bit-- in years past here, you could not get a Republican elected for anything, and I have voted for Democrats, as long as they were strong supporters of the 1st & 2nd Amendment, understood the importance of a decent military, etc. The Libertarians have a lot of philosophical points I like well enough. If the current SOB's aren't giving you what you want, why not try an alternative?

Which is why I am chosing the Liberterian canidate for Commissioner and mayor. The GOP mayoral canidate is NOT viable in my book. He is a crony of I need an income tax gov taxquist (r), his wife is taxquist right arm. He ousted a perfectly good GOP Rep by dirty tricks cause taxquist didn't like it that the GOOD Rep was a maverick he couldn't control. The Shelby Co GOP have proven they can't be trusted to field CONSERVATIVE canidates once to often. Our current mayor is a rino, our current commissioners are rino's.
