But then since paper wraps rock if they find paper towels in the garbage they will shut the place down. If paper wraps rock, then the terrorists have won.
I think I'll go take a shower.

This is beyond silly. This is insanity run amuck. You couldn't drag me into an airport right now.
To: RoughDobermann
This is getting silly... You got that right. I was stopped at a security point about 15 years ago with a pair of scissors in my briefcase. This was in Ft. Lauderdale where security always was tighter than other airports. But those scissors had to have been in my briefcase for at least a year and been through several dozen airports in that time.

No need to worry - the proposed national identification card will solve all the problems you mentioned. < /sarcasm >

These people really are Morons. They are going to absolutely destroy what is left of the airline industry unless they come to their senses.
As long as they have these idiots in Security - it will never change!
AIRPOT SECURITY - TODAY
Airport security as it should be.
HEY - I THOUGHT YOU USED A WAND!

I detected an unhealthy hint of sarcasm in your post that I suspect might be counter-cooperative.
I have forwarded your name to the Ministry of Information in the hopes that I will be looked upon favorably by the authorities.

I may be wrong, but I think that you now give consent, knowingly or unknowingly, to be searched when you go through security. I think I've seen the signs. I agree though, it is disturbing, but as you say, no one is forced to fly.

Whatever happened to "Busy Buzz Buzz" battery operated scissors, anyway?

YOUHAVE
GOT
TO
BE
KIDDING
ME!
This whole nation has gone insane. I need to find some way out of this asylum. Maybe I should change my handle to Wonko The Sane, that seems appropriate in this day and age.
Scissors...man, what are people devolving into?

On the plus side, the terminal wing at Bradley is about the size of one of the big gates at Reagan/La Guardia/JFK/O'Hare/etc. If it were at a real airport, it could have been a much bigger problem.
Good thing the feds are in charge of security now, eh?
To: RoughDobermann
I may be wrong, but I think that you now give consent, knowingly or unknowingly, to be searched when you go through security. I understand that is the case for the boarding search, but what of the departure search?
How can you unknowingly give your consent to something? Is there some fine print on the ticket you buy? Are there signs posted that inform people that they are consenting to a departure search?
My take on "unknowing consent":
"What do you mean I stole something? The owner unknowingly gave his consent for me to take it."
