I'm 99% certain about this since Jeff is the Wayne County MCRGO chair and a credible source. I think the email was from Dingell.
Great work MCRGO members here and others that kept the heat on the reps. We did VERY WELL here.
For those that don't know what this bill does, it used to be a FELONY to transport a pistol anywhere outside of a trunk(bad for SUV's) and to transport it anywhere besides hunting, place of business, or a gun range of which you are a member. Now, pistols are treated the same as rifles and shotguns for transport. This is a GREAT repealing of an AWFUL law.
My hat is off to everyone that helped. Now we have to teach Ferndale a lesson in the courts for illegally banning CCW. I think the papers have been filed. Stay tuned. We aren't done yet. We're just getting started!!!!!

"Now we have to teach Ferndale a lesson in the courts for illegally banning CCW. I think the papers have been filed." Find a good gun-loving lawyer - and have him name as codefendants in the lawsuit every official in the town who made that decision: the city councilmen, the mayor or city manager, etc.
That's how the teacher's unions do it when suing on behalf of fired tenured teachers. It not only drives up defense costs for the school system - but it scares the hell out of any school-board member anywhere even thinking of voting to fire a tenured teacher and thus risk his own personal assets.
GUN REVIEWS free from ad-money bias - with emphasis on woman-friendliness of tested guns!

Two questions: when does it go into effect, and is it now legal for someone other than the registered owner to use a handgun?

Kudos to all involved! I'll feel a little better about driving to the range now.

Call me crazy, but I think you folks should still throw the bum out for vetoing it in the first place.

Congatulations. If every state would have a group like your's there wouldn't be a problem. Thanks for keeping us informed.

Great news Dan. Now that you have won that battle move on to the next and then the next and before you know it you will have the CCW state that you dream of.
It's true, dreams can come true. All it takes is a lifetime's work and a big boot to kick the unwilling's asses into line.
