If you reformat your hard drive it's easier to logoff.

That works for me, too.

I thought it was polite, and it cleared my cookie

Is that from Clinton's grand jury testimony?

I just tried it a few minutes ago, and was not logged off. I certainly never had trouble loggin out before. I didn't have to log back in to post.

Logged in forever..... whether we like it or not..... I hope John will eventually put a link on the latest post pages.... There was one there before all the major changes of the weekend.

Now..... another question......

How do you turn off the announcements on the State pages? I've reset it to "not receive" and back to "to receive", but in either case they still appear...

Welcome to.....
The Outer Freepin’ Limits

There is nothing wrong with your FR forum.
Do not attempt to adjust the fonts, images, or profiles. We are controlling the bandwidth.
If we wish to make it softer, we will tune it to a smaller font. We will control the horizontal (turn your monitor over). We will control the vertical.
We can roll the image; make it flutter, blink and marquee.
We can change the focus to a soft blur (to negate those Dem disruptors) or sharpen it to crystal clarity for those that still don't get it.
For the next election cycle, sit quietly and we will control all that you read and heed, learn and discern.
We repeat: there is nothing wrong with your FR forum. You are about to participate in a great adventure. You are about to experience the awe and mystery which reaches from the inner mind to the outer Freepin’ limits of the web.

I like the convenience of always being "AT HOME" at FR.

That's how my shortcut is set. That and email are among the higher level priorities in my life. Why logoff?

I can't log off either. I mean, sure I can log off for a few hours here and there but I always come back. Don't believe anyone who says they could quit anytime they wanted to. ;^)

Why logoff?

To experience closure?

If you reformat your hard drive it's easier to logoff.

There's an easier way than formatting the hard drive, and you won't lose all your documents.

Boot up on a 98 boot floppy.
Get to the DOS prompt.
Type "C:" without the quotes and hit enter.
Type "deltree c:\windows" (again, without the quotes) and hit enter.
Answer yes to the prompt and hit enter
There. All your problems are solved, and the "My Documents" folder is safe and sound.

Closure?

Hmmmmm, seems like modern life closes enough things off interpersonally. I rather like FR having wide-open warm arms welcoming 24 hours to most anyone with a hint of sanity, humor and solid values.

Actually, it never occurred to me. I never feel a lack of closure vis a vis FR. I have plenty of closure when I click to a different thread or minimize the almost always open FR window.

You just think that not being able to log off is a major problem. You must have lived a very sheltered life.

I haven't been able to communicate with A+Bert ever since he became an anonymous moderator. NOW that is a problem.
