Early Report from the Pro-Israel Rally in NYC
cell phone call from RaceBannon | 4/7/02 | firebrand

Posted on 04/07/2002 10:34:34 AM PDT by firebrand

RaceBannon phoned in from the rally, which was moved to Dag Hammarskjold Park. It was just breaking up at about 12:15, although many people were still there and some of the speakers were still giving interviews. Race estimated 12,000 people.

Speakers were Congressman Engels, Senator Schumer, Andy Cuomo, Curtis Sliwa, Dove Hikind, Rabbi Golden, probably others.

By sheer coincidence, Race met up with newwahoo in the crowd.

The crowd was very polite, lots of families, psalms were sung in Hebrew, and even the booing was subdued---even when the New York Times was mentioned.

Next Sunday, the demonstration is said to be at 55th and Park at 10:30, where the PLO office is.

Yehuda, Race, and newwahoo I hope will correct any errors I've made here, or start a new thread.

The primary objective of Arafat's terrorist regime is not to establish the twenty-second Arab state, but to destroy the only western state. This was and remains the heart of the conflict. In 1948, the Arabs rejected an international resolution that would have established an Arab state, and instead attempted to destroy an embryonic Jewish state. Fifty-two years later, Arafat rejected a similar offer. Arafat publicly in Arabic demanded that Arabs rise and destroy Israel. With such a regime, whose ultimate objective is our destruction and which pursues this objective by the most barbaric means imaginable, there is no place for negotiations and no hope for reaching any sustainable peace agreement. Indeed, the much vaunted political solution to end the conflict was in fact attempted two years ago at Camp David, and it utterly failed. Arafat rejected a scandalously far-reaching Israeli offer of a sovereign Palestinian state in Judea, Samaria, and the Gaza Strip, which included half of Jerusalem, and instead chose to unleash the present war of terror against Israel. There is only one option that is now available to Israel: to decisively win the war that has been forced upon her. What is required of Israel today is not a willingness to clench her teeth and bear this ongoing violence, massacre after massacre.

This might be one of the things I got wrong. I wondered about this myself. The Palestinian Authority maybe? The facts will be cleared up later.

Thank you for the report. Without FR, I would never have known there was a pro-Israel rally anywhere in the United States.

A march would have done Nadler some good. Where was that useless bucket of fat encrusted guts?

Haven't seen or heard this reported anywhere, whereas pro-Pally rally was all over everywhere - as was anti-US rallies all over the world! CNN: "We have no bias." Yeah, right, a..holes.

Apparently, The Times recently referred to the Palestinians as "freedom fighters." I don't know where this was, in an op-ed piece or what. Again, don't take what I say as gospel. But that's what the booing was for. Race was talking to people at the rally and getting a lot of his information from them.

"Where was that useless bucket of fat (Nadler) encrusted guts?"

Now, wait just a minute, pardner! Just where do you get off suggesting that Jabba the Nadler has anything remotely resembling guts? You are referring to one of the sleaziest, slimiest, scum-sucking, bloated-arsed, gutless wonders to ever waddle through the halls of Congress. To suggest that Nadler has guts is wholely unfair and inaccurate.

I was at the rally with my husband and daughter, and just got back. The crowd consisted of a wide range of ages, across the religious spectrum. The police checked our jackets and didn't allow backpacks in. As I walked in with my daughter, I said to the police, "we don't use OUR children for violence," with a rueful grin.

The speakers mentioned planning a rally in D.C. within the next two weeks. Everyone from the eastern seaboard should be there! Plenty of busses will be arranged.

Are you suprised? I'm not. This is the same bolshevik American media which follows America hating cop hating slime like Al Sharpton around. Even when Sharpton or Jessie Jackson takes a crap the bolshevik media is right there crawling up their dirty rear ends. The bolshevik media never gives any publicity to good and decent people.

I would never have known there was a pro-Israel rally anywhere in the United States.

That is a positive. Bush is trying to erase American fingerprints from the USA giving Sharon the green light to take out the terrorists.

Last thing we needs is video of pro-Israel American demonstrations broadcast worldwide. A mob attacted our embassy in Bahrain last week. Very unusual for a country on our side (we have a naval base there) and whose air field we need. Pointless to incite even more trouble. We can support Israel without giving our enemies a weapon to use against us.
