the United States finally acknowledged that it "recognizes Mrs. Martin's right under the First Amendment to protest at a reasonable time, in a reasonable place, and in a reasonable manner."

Odd, I don't recall any "reasonable" language in the First Amendment. Those kinds of weasel clauses are what qualifies an absolute right. And I don't recall appointing the government arbiter of what is and is not "reasonable."

A victory, nonetheless.

The initial case against her itseldf was a total travesty and a raw abuse of power by the federal government. Absolutely everyone involved in pursuing this case against her should no longer collect a penny of federal salary.

Don,

Obviously you don't know this woman! She has more heart and soul than you can imagine, and is a community supporter of great depth. What the fed's should be fearing now is if she file's a counter suit, which has a good possibility! Where she works has taken the issue to heart too (in real life she's a really good real-estate agent at Rookstool-Moden REALTY Co.), Walt Moden, is running for county commisioner over it. Barbra IS the definition of a heavy-hitter!

She shouldn't have had to go through such a stressful ordeal, but I'm glad there was some justice in the end.

"About Stan" "I thought I heard they dropped the case against him. ????"

I wish you or someone knew for sure.

Ah Yes... Stan, The founder of the Klamath Tea Party who at the height of the tension TOOK ACTION! The Stan that lead the climb over the offensive fence in the face of the unjustified Federal oppression!

The Stan that many Freepers thought too "radical" and wimpered for a full day over the "He's not really a farmer... just a retired railroad employee!" The Stan that sparked the Feds into the foolish move to charge Barbara and himself with some sort of supposed "crime!"

The Stan that exposed the true criminals while being charged with trumped-up charges himself. Barbara is a great American HEROIN, but Stan is also a courageous PATRIOT who tried to stop a governMental RIOT!!!

Stan is not only a farmer, he has shown the courage to ACT on his convictions while being condemned by those who should cheer him, but rather, run on at the mouth and at their keyboards, tormented by timidity in the face of the intimidators, imagining multiple negative ourcomes... saddening!

Other than that, I too am pleased with the outcome and hope Barbara's boss wins the County Commissioner seat. If he does the right thing, it's a cinch he won't get re-elected. He'll be told that doing the right thing is too radical and not popular. "The nail that sticks up, gets hammered down." (old asiatic proverb)

Partial ping! BUT Klamath is not over yet. And I hope Barbra goes after them. When the enviro-nazis lose they slink away and plan for tomorrow. We need to settle this situation once and for all.
