Paramount's Great America amusement park in Santa Clara was evacuated Saturday night an hour before closing time by police in riot gear after fighting broke out following a hip-hop dance contest.

No serious injuries were reported, police said, and while arrests were made at the park throughout the day -- arrests are made just about every weekend, park officials say -- police could not say how many were related to Saturday night's fighting.

Here's one way to stop this in the future...no more events by "urban" radio stations that usually do end in riots!

According to some witnesses, a man in the crowd slapped a woman and sparked a melee among other patrons

Gee, maybe this guy listened to one to many Rap songs encouraging kids to "bi**h slap their ho"...

I wish that the article would have mentioned the racial makeup of the group that was involved in the fighting. But I
guess with the fact that the fighting broke out during a hip-hop dance contest, it would be easy to guess.

Bishop said: ``I hope the park looks into this to see what caused this problem so as not to have these kinds of disturbances in the future.''

I think we all know what caused this problem and any attemp to control the cause would result in NAACP protests and lawsuits.

I worked for an insurance company that wrote liability insurance for security companies that worked concerts. It was the only insurance policy in the world with a "rap" exclusion. We covered all the standard liability stuff at most concerts, but there was no coverage for incidents occurring at rap concerts. It was so funny. The first bit of claims investigation we did was to find out the names of the bands and go to one of the young clerical ladies to find out if they were a rap group or not.

So-called "urban" (i.e., let the black people do whatever they want) nights invariably turn into drug and violence infested hellholes (just ask the two guys who dies natural deaths after ray lewis and his bros sliced them to ribbons).

Let's do a little handicapping here: How many years do you all think it will be before good and decent black people are able to knock off the violence, illegitimacy, welfarism, and drug pushing that now dominates black peoples' neighborhoods and start to get their situation under contol?

I'll put the over/under at 10 years -- and I'll take the way over.

yep...it went urban. I used to have a stack of KMEL "rockin the bay" stickers..... wish I still did.

Luckily we KSJO is still around as well as a newer clasic rock station 107.7

I'm not sure what KOME is now, alternative rock or something I think.

Good point, I don't know what I was thinking about. I, of all people should know about midnight basketball. Made the mistake some years ago of buying a condo on Capital Hill near an outdoor basketball court. All night long, every night of the week, all I heard was the bouncing of the basketball to accompanying guttural grunts and shouts. Since the bros didn't have to work, I got to listen to my tax dollars at play.
