Bush the First 2 years.

Posted on 04/25/2002 2:21:42 AM PDT by James007

Bush started out his Presidential career apologizing to the Communist Chinese for the damage we did to their fighter jet when it ran into our prop aircraft over international waters. It was reported that he sent the al-Qaida terrorists in the Philippians $300,000.00 for the release of two American Missionaries after declaring them our enemy.

Bush blew it in Afghanistan from day one. To begin with he failed to get a Declaration of War from the United States Congress and no the War Powers Act is not a Declaration of War. Bush then ordered our bombers to drop bombs on Afghanistan targets only while it was dark. This was a very big mistake. The main purpose behind any bombing campaign is to keep the enemy pinned down with their heads covered until we are able to get our ground forces in place and ready to attack. Stopping the bombing during daylight hours allowed Osama bin Laden to escape Afghanistan while it allowed the Taliban fighters the opportunity to reinforce their defensive positions causing the unnecessary deaths of American troops and our allies. Then he dropped humanitarian aid in Afghanistan without anyone on the ground to insure the people who needed it actually received it. It went to the people who had the guns and not to the people it was intended for. Bush held off the ground campaign until he was able to move Special Forces Troops from Fort Campbell when he already had the Second Marine Division in the region ready to go and who are better trained for his type of operation. That is no way to fight a war. Finally instead of establishing a democratic government in Afghanistan he has thrown his support behind the Afghanistan War Lords and the Monarch they support who will continue the fighting long after we pull out of Afghanistan.

Shortly after the “accident” with the Chinese MiG I would have ordered the pilot of our aircraft to ditch it in the water and wait to be picked up then I would have jumped all over the Communist Chinese for downing our aircraft over international waters. Could this have started a war with China? If it did it would have been a very short-lived war as we would have defeated them within weeks of our initial attack.. One of my confirmed kills in Vietnam was a Communist Chinese Officer and I have more respect for the Korean Marines than I do for the Chinese Military. As a military force they make better fertilizer than they do combatants. During the three day action over Mother’s Day 1969 the NVA through over 5 thousand troops against a little less than 700 Marines and we killed all but 2 of the NVA soldiers under the Communist Chinese command. We totally devastated the Communist Chinese Army in Korea so there is absolutely no reason for us to fear the Communist Chinese or their Army. Now that does not mean I would go out of my way to start a war with China however I would put the Communist Chinese on notice that we would react with military force if attacked.

Mr. Bond, how unusually dense (or circumspect) of you. If the "War Lords and the Monarch" are fighting, then we never have to pull out...

This is amusing...especially since he's only been in office for a year and 3 months. Some folks in here are about as bad as the DNC and their propaganda.

Precisely!! Don't you hate it when someone who is so obviously buried neck deep in the ass of the liberal establishment posts an article like this! What a waste of bandwidth.
