North Cook County Conservatives Meet to Discuss Gun Laws (my title)
NCCC | 4/27/02 | Geoff Lowe

Posted on 04/29/2002 6:14:32 AM PDT by TheRightGuy

Subject: NCCC Meeting May 1

The Northern Cook County Conservation Coalition (formerly the ISRA
Northern Cook County Grassroots organization) will hold it's monthly
meeting on May1, 2002.

Our guest speaker will be Claudia Levin, who with her husband owns
and manages Maxon's Shooting Sports in Des Plaines. Claudia gave an
excellent presentation at the recent City Council meeting in Des
Plaines, resulting in a 7 to 1 vote against a Daley-sponsored gun
grab ordinance. Claudia will talk to us about the trials and
tribulations of being a responsible gun shop owner in Cook County,
talk about what goes into running a gun shop, and answer any
questions we may have. This will be a good meeting, so tell your
friends.

We'll be starting at 7PM Wednesday, May 1st at the Republican offices
at 4135 West Main Street, Skokie.
See you all there.

Geoff Lowe
Chairman

Not all. Those that the mag. slides into the grip are "allowed". Only the ones that the mag. mounts in front of the trigger assembly are now banned.

(10) any firearm having a caliber of .50 or greater;

I thought that any firearm with a cartridge of .50 or greater caliber was classified as a destructive device, which is a BAFT no-no. Specifically, I remember one of the BAFT charges against the Branch Davidians was that they had a Boys British anti-tank rifle, which exceeded the caliber of the legal 50 BMG, and was an unlicensed destructive device.

It is a shame that people get so hungup on firearms as evil creatures with lives of their own, that they don't view them as just chunks of metal and hold those that use, or abuse them responsible for their own actions. Oh course to be a good democrat, one must believe in victimhood. It was the gun that caused the crime, not the criminal.

Let me rephrase my above comment. Metal cartridge Caliber in excess of .50 is considered destructive devise, such as say a a .55 Cal Boys Anti-tank rifle. A 50 BMG chambered bolt action or semi-automatic firearm is ok to own (in most states at the moment).

I disagree...

a semi-automatic pistol that has an ability to accept a detachable magazine

A glock has a detachable magazine and would therefore be illegal. The use of the word 'and' in the sentence also disallows those with detachable magazines outside of the pistol grip. Nowhere is it stated that pistols that have magazines in the pistol grip are "ok".
