Great Settlement! There is never a total victory in Court.
To: Jim Robinson
Thank you. Refraining from posting WP and LAT articles will not be difficult, believe me!
I can think of a few obsessive-compulsive AFers who now may want to consider untwisting their knickers.
To: Jim Robinson
Congratulations Jim, and to all that helped. Keep up the good work.
To: Jim Robinson
Thank you for fighting!

Isn't that the truth. The only use of the WP is John Haung's ability to cut their articles to mince meat!!!

Wooo Hooo!!!
It's certainly not what LAT/WP were hoping for, that's exciting. I'm a little bummed about the fines, but under the circumstances I think we came off better than they did.
Good for you JimRob. Thanks to you and everyone else for fighting the good fight.
To: Jim Robinson
Congratulations. Fact is, a brief excerpt from the L.A. Times is about all I can take without losing my breakfast.
To: Jim Robinson
Does this set precedent for other news sources to do the same and file suit? I mean, will the AP or somebody sue next?
To: Jim Robinson
Well done fella. My congratulations to all involved.
To: Jim Robinson
One has only to look at the history of the WP/LaTimes to see where the problem was and still is. It was never money or legal rights, it was ideology, pure and simple.

This is a tragedy of biblical proportions for the boys over at "Free Republic Death Watch". Whatever will they do now?
Perhaps we need a "Free Republic Death Watch" death watch.

Congratulations! This is a win!
No big loss here. No real conservative would ever "cite" either of these left wing fish wraps for any meaningful thread. Only the disruptors love the Slimes and Compost!
With most of their biased opeds, 7 lines is often 7 lines too much!

"It's a crying shame that the hallowed words of the WP/LAT will no longer grace our pages, but, somehow, I am sure we will manage to live on without them."LOL! Great news.
All DUmmies, Sore Losermen and assorted clymers can go stick it!
To: Jim Robinson
Thanks to you, John and the rest of the gang for hanging in there - to benefit us all. I know firsthand how eager you must have been to get the lawyers out of your life.
To: Jim Robinson
Whew. . .As one who finds receiving registered mail upsetting, I can't imagine what an ordeal this has been for you and your family. Thank you for standing up for liberty.
To: Jim Robinson
YAHOO!!!!! That's great news Jim. $5,000 each? LOL
Too bad they weren't smart enough to let us post their articles in full, they might be doing a lot better today. As it is, I rarely click on the links to them because of their stance in this, I won't give them the hits.
To: Jim Robinson
Great News Jim, Count me in for an additional donation to help pay the settlement, I'm sure many more will do the same.
Congrats & Eagles Up

While this is not entirely a win for FR, neither is it a crushing defeat. Free Republic is alive and well and the fight against liberalism continues on. Anytime you don't lose a fight against the bigs, you've won a big battle.
Congratulations, and thanks!
