Canadians educated by Media
Numberten Web Site ^ | June 23rd, 2002 | James Bredin

Canadians are educated on a daily basis by the media and the media walks hand in hand with Ottawa politicians. Canadians are told what to believe and they are told that government policies are supreme, therefore there is no need to debate them. Just believe.

Managed by the Media

I don’t like it when the media tells me what to do or what to like,
This often takes the place of democratic debate and I dislike,
When they walk hand in hand with pompous Liberal politicians,
And pump out their propaganda day after day in multiple editions.

When they tell me ‘bout poor people on the other side of the earth,
That I have a responsibility to maintain without dialogue or mirth,
And I don’t need referendums or callbacks; I should just believe,
No democratic discussion; I should be glad what little I receive.

And at their G8 meeting, they’re going to forgive all foreign debt,
Then they’ll add it to our national debt so there’s no need to fret,
And that six hundred billion dollar debt will just grow and grow,
And I should be so happy that Canadians can kowtow.

"And I should be so happy that Canadians can kowtow."

That's the pox on the Canuks for sending the US Petah Jennings.

All joking side, Canada should have a civil war and let the more sane Western Provinces secede from the commies in the East.

I read your profile blurb.
To assert their other rights, wouldn't Canadians need to have PROPERTY RIGHTS in the first place ? Considering the Canadian constitution does not codify property rights, your government has no need to respect any of your other rights.
The Canadian government owns almost all of the media in Canada and has since the day of your $1.07 US dollar and Lester "Mike" Pearson's handing off to Trudeau (I Jean Cretien was the Finance Minister about then). And that does include the television media of CBC, CTV (Bassett is the head of CSIS, if I am not mistaken), Global and CITYTV.

Most of the print media is owned or controlled by the Canadian government. There are no free speach rights codified in Canada.
I agree with you that America should annex all of Canada.

Let the frogs swim back to mother France. That way, it'd only be a six hour drive from Toronto to Fredrickton, N.B. </ humor>

I've said it before and I'll say it again. From the mouth of a celebrity news personality, the call of big media is, "when we want your opinion, we'll give it to you."

Top o' the mornin' to ye, shamus lad. I have remarked before that the beginning of the end of Liberal power and the sycophantic Canadian press may not come. The problem is that Canadians seem to lack MY humour. Anyone that thinks wretches with toques, swilling beer is funny, may not be got at.

That having been said, if, if, only Canadians could see the hilarious(though sad) side of it all, then we would be half ways there. Yeah, a collective belly laugh from the Bonavista to Vancouver Island. Sort of cleanse the socialistic Augean stables.

I would however, disagree with others who would like to see the old Dominion as part of the USA. Just back from a great evening ,with the gracious folks from the Upper Penninsula of Michigan. This difference is just great, between the two great nations.

After all the ghost of the formidable Colonel Prince could well rise and form the militia to repel all intruders., as he did at Windsor in 1837. (LOL).

Of course (to self) it should have been said that James Bredin's whimsical and telling offering is a jolly good start. Yes, let the chuckles and laughter begin.
