We seek You with open hearts today, Lord, and pray that Your holy presence would be felt in our lives. You are the vine; we are the branches. Without You, we are as rudderless ships, twisting and turning in the stormy sea. Please be our vision and our guide, that we may always move toward You. We ask that You would fill us with Your Holy Spirit, that the joy of our salvation may be restored.
Father, President Bush needs Your wisdom and courage to set the national agenda based upon Your truths and the wisdom You are providing him. Help him to use the power afforded by his office to lead this nation in a positive, freedom-loving direction. Let him not be bullied by those who seek to push through agendas that have very little to do with the ideals and desires of American citizens, and much to do with a move toward socialism. Save us from the hands of those who use deceit and treachery to accomplish their political goals. Save us from the hands of those who seek to add power to the federal government. Save us from further infringements upon our basic rights and freedoms. Father, please give President Bush a clear vision of how to accomplish what You want him to accomplish.
We pray for our senators and ask that You would give wisdom to the American people as they go to the polls this fall to vote for Congress men and women. Help us to choose those candidates who seek to be obedient to You and to honor You. Please provide new Senate leadership for us, Father, so that we may move toward ending partial-birth abortion and all abortion in this nation. Convict the hearts of the Senate Judiciary Committee to move on the President’s nominations for judicial posts.
Thank You, Father, for the blessings of knowing that You are in control. We would never want anyone but You to be in charge of all things concerning us, our families, our President, and our nation. May Your hand move in America, Lord, and may all Your people praise You for Your mighty works and Your faithful answers to our prayers. In the name of Jesus, Amen.
Thank you for the countless blessings that you give so generously. What a marvelous God we serve. Father I pray for our President today and ask that you would guide him, give to him wisdom and understanding. Teach him Your ways and lead him on the path of righteousness. Lord I also pray for our Senate for those who do not know you I pray that you would soften their heart and open their eyes, may they come to you rejoicing. For those who do know you I pray for discernment for them. May they zealously seek Your will and obey you no matter what the cost may be. I pray this in Jesus name, Amen.
