After hundreds of lawsuits, and the howling roar of silence from Reuters regarding them, Judicial Watch's latest ditty shockingly debuts at Numero Uno on the Reuters Top Stories Yahoo charts:
Group Sues Cheney, Halliburton over Accounting
Wed Jul 10,10:15 AM ET
MIAMI (Reuters) - A public interest legal group filed a shareholder lawsuit on Wednesday alleging Vice President Dick Cheney ( news - web sites) and the oil services company he ran for five years, Halliburton Co., as well as accounting firm Andersen, defrauded shareholders through accounting fraud.
The lawsuit filed by Judicial Watch alleges that while Cheney was Halliburton's chief executive officer, he and its other directors inflated revenue reports, which increased the stock's value.
"They overstated their revenues by tens of millions of dollars and that's an understatement," said Larry Klayman, chairman and general counsel at Judicial Watch. The civil suit was filed in Dallas federal court.
Klayman said the inflated revenues resulted from accounting changes that were never made public as required by law. The lawsuit did not specify the amount of compensation the plaintiff shareholders are seeking. But Klayman said: "We're seeking millions and millions of dollars. ... It's to punish the people involved."
Cheney worked as chief executive of Halliburton from 1995 to 2000.
Congrats Larry! Youve finally found the magic formula for glorious media stardom! Took you long enough!

I was always taught to finish what was on my plate before asking for more.
Hey Larry -- what did you find from those White House E-mails you labored so long to produce from clinton/gore? What was in those E-mails?
After you tell us at least THAT, then you can go on to Bush/Cheney.

We need to start connecting dots about Klayman.
Maybe some of the numerous lawyers that have gone through JW might want to come out and spill the beans on Klayman. Any organization with as much turnover as he has, has to have some disgruntled ex-employees around!
Queston: Am I dreaming or did Russ Verney from Reform go to work for Klayman?
To: Miss Marple
I want to know if we can file a class action lawsuit against him. Probably not. You'd need a court to certify a class of individuals who have suffered direct harm from his illegal or tortious activities, and that would be a high hurdle. The fact that he's harming America as a whole wouldn't be sufficient.

Ha! Ha!
This says alot about Larry and Reuters!

This in addition to the clintons and carville working behind the scenes to take the President down. carville is behind the attack ads now running against GW. The DNC person admitted it. The clintons and their cronies continue to run the media - and larry klayman needs to be outed as the scum he is. Vice-President Cheney is an honorable man that loves this country, as is the President. I hope they don't stay silent while the media hypes the ads and the likes of money-grubbing, camer-seeking, dishonorable klayman.

White House Comment: Suit is without merit! Even Fox just alluded to the lawsuit.
Gloves are off guys -- we need to start digging up every last morsel we can find about Klayman.
Maybe FR needs an investigative arm as well as its own press area with credentials for Freepers investigating or interviewing.

Probably not. You'd need a court to certify a class of individuals who have suffered direct harm from his illegal or tortious activities, and that would be a high hurdle. The fact that he's harming America as a whole wouldn't be sufficient. That hasn't stopped JW from filing lawsuits aplenty.

Please tell me how one would go about filing a class action lawsuit against Larry Klayman. The best case against a lawyer like Klayman will be on behalf of one of the clients that he nominally represents.
And I suspect that that will happen one of these days.

Klayman bugs me and Reuters is often pathetic - - but ANY suit against a sitting Vice President is news.

Exactly. So Larry stands for ethics? He is now "in good" with the media puppets who more than any other entity is responsible for the damage and danger that our country now finds itself in.
Congrats, Larry. That money must be really good.....
Do your eyes light up with dreams of grand estates???
Terry McCauliffe has some good insider stock trade tips for you!
In fact, if you play your cards right, Larry, you might get a prime time slot on ABCNBCCBSCNN now. Wouldn't that be neat? You could fit right in with all the other Democratic Party plants in the press puppet lineup - from Steponallofus, Begala, Matthews, Woodruff, Rather, Jennings, Brokaw, Blitzer, Russert, et al ---- a dream I am sure you have. The dollar signs are flashing too much, Lar. Welcome to the biggest garbage entity of history.

But none of Larrys suits against President Clinton (there were dozens of them) ever made the Reuters "Top News" list. Most did not even merit a small forgotten note. Neither did any of their suits against Gore or Reno.
Has the media only recently adopted your journalistic truism?

Voted for the peanut farmer? Oooooooooo - surely you jest.
I don't know two people who still admit to that!
Klayman has delusions of grandeur that mirror those of the peanut farmer.
Useful idiot the Commies call his kind.

So I did remember right -- Verney did go to work for JW! Someone told me that Klayman worked for Perot in 1992 but I am still trying to track that down.
Of course I am one of the few ones on here who believes that Schippers was not exactly the best man for the Impeachment House Managers. Never trusted him and still don't. He blamed the Republican Senators and was strangly silent when he spoke on the RATS that voted en masse not to remove clinton! That spoke volumes in my mind.

GOD, I HATE THE PRESS!!!Looks like the clintons, dnc, and the press have this ducks in order this time. Talk about a full court press. Absolutely disgusting. I hate politics.

Please tell me how one would go about filing a class action lawsuit against Larry Klayman.I'll join, too. I loathe the media, and lk. To think I fawned over him at the House Manager's dinner, and the Linda Tripp dinner makes me absolutely ill.
