I can't recall her father's exact comment but I do remember that it was something that was downright offensive, not just to members of the Jewish community. Nice how they don't print the comment and make it sound as if the Jewish community just might have been being a bit sensitive.
Talk about no morality!
Why not find something from the Civil War? That's about as relevant.
It seems to me that figures from 1995 are quite a bit more relevant to this discussion than figures from 1865, but suit yourself.
On a similar note, I should add that "moldy bagels" cost quite a bit less than $4 million where I come from.
In the 1998 legislative cycle, AFL-CIO contributions amounted to over $35 million.
That's nice.
And even in your numbers, AIPAC numbers were less than 8% of the AARP numbers.
Actually, these are not "my numbers," but an analysis of December 8 edition of FORTUNE magazine's ""Power 25" feature from an organization called "Public Campaign."

Has nothing to do with a few votes on Israel. Her stand there won't change a thing. McKinney is threatening Israel's $12 billion a year diamond business and the money from that which flows to the Kennedy's and other Democrats. They are terrified Blacks will begin to demand Africans get more of the money.
When The Nation Magazine and Howard Phillips agree on an issue, you know the Democrats are in trouble.
This an an excellent wedge issue to peel off Black Democrats from the party. Jewish Democrats are demanding they get to pick who the black community selects as their candidate lest African blacks get a better deal in life. Jackson and his crowd are bought off but this might be an excllent issue for Al Sharpton. He or some other black leader (a conservative one wouldbe nice) would make headlines if they demanded a diamond boycott.
Black may not come to the GOP over this but they might go to Ralph Nader and the greens. This internal party dispute is between the progressives and the DLC. In the last election enough of the progressive wing broke away to give Bush the election. More leaving would be nice.
I don't know if AIPAC is "all powerful" or not (I rather doubt it) , but it does seem to me that $4 million is quite a bit more than the price of a "moldy bagel," as another poster in this thread claimed.
Take Noah's Bagels for example - I usually get a 16 oz. cranberry juice, a large "Midtown" coffee, and a raisin bagel for breakfast, and it only costs me $3.73!
Just like the Cowboys did with the Indians in the 19th Century.
That is a great idea! We should just have a mass immigration of Israelis to the US, and they could recreate Israel in Utah or Nevada or somewhere like that. They are productive, educated and would contribute much to our economy.
Then the people who wanted to stay on that narrow strip of land surrounded by Arab states, and fight it out over religious symbols and landmarks, could do so to their hearts' content!
WIN-WIN-WIN!
