Pennsylvania Angels

This was the first we knew it was nine for nine. I've always known that Pennsylvania shitkickers were the best in G-d's Country, but now I know that we grow the hardiest angels here too.
G-d bless every tobacco chewin', snuff rubbin', Marlboro smokin', baseball hat wearin', pickup truck drivin', rifle totin', shot and a beer drinkin', most beloved rednecks in the world, every man, woman, and child among us, because we are the real America.
There is not a doubt in most peoples' minds that G-d's hands guided every nanosecond of this miracle, but it wasn't the only miracle, yet I've seen next to nothing either written or spoken about the Miracle of the Sequoias. I have photos of Kernville in an album because I always thought that if I was ever forced to go back to CA, Kernville would be the ideal spot for me...next to the mountains of PA.
Those firefighters put their entire spirits into saving what G-d has graced only the United States of America with, a gift so precious and rare that it could be found nowhere else in the world and they are still working around the clock, some having lost their lives, to reserve this symbol of one of the things that makes us so unique in all the world.
Is there one person who has not heard *America, The Beautiful,* and not thought at least fleetingly about the giant redwoods, so ancient and graceful that only we have been blessed enough for G-d to bestowe them into our care, except for those minor few that have been given as gifts to botanical gardens because they are treasures and we have shared their beauty with others?

G-d wasn't much worried about the three-million dollar mansions that burned, but not one single Sequoia or seedling was even singed...or hasn't it occurred to you that these trees in all their majesty are irreplaceable?
In passing, I have heard that there are some of you who didn't see or hear G-d and angels in the Miracle of the Mine, but I'm here to tell you they were there in every heartbeat, in the noise of the heavy drills, in the faces and hearts of every single person who ventured that way whether they watched it in Australia, Africa, England, France, or anywhere else.
And I'm here to tell you that whether you knew or even cared, G-d is watching over one of the great symbols of our freedom which gives me hope that we might yet survive this evil that has overtaken most of the world.
Granted, that quickie tornado in Florida, one of His less inept helpers chased LarryL, LarryL, and his other brother LarryL with was off a tad, but everyone has an off day.
We have heard from our enemies that our greatest weakness is our love of life and the value of all human beings. It is not our weakness. It is our strength held in place by the greatest purpose of faith it has ever been my privilege to witness. Our prayers were not to a religion. They went straight to G-d with no editing stops in between. And someone, somewhere, was paying darned close attention.
Nine for nine souls and not one loss of a single Sequoia from one side of the country to another. I dare someone to ask G-d, "What have You done for me lately?"
Then watch out for errant tornadoes.

The only thing James Carville evwer got right: Pennsylvania is Pittsburgh on the left and Philadelphia on the right, but Alabama in between.

Which is a good thing.

Mark Schweiker is going to be on Leno tonight. Were you there when he saw the cameras looking for him and ran and hid?

No, it appears to me he's like a moth to the flame of the press cameras. The last time he got any exposure was when he introduced the Power Ball lottery to PA back in May.

Seriously, the guy really wanted to make darn sure that the families got the news before they saw it on TV or heard it on the radio. That was the number one complaint from the Flight 93 families. The press hounded them and they never heard anything from people in charge until they had already heard it elsewhere. da gov done good up there. You had to see the look on his face. It was ecstatic, and he made a point of informing those families who were waiting before any newshound got a whiff, and there were no steenking cameras in there. Sturdy Pennsylvania Dutch.
Kind of just makes you proud over and over, what happened up there. No one gave up, no one laid down, and no one would allow a doubt to escape their lips.
Anyway, I haven't been here for a while and this is SOOO worth shouting about.
