A Virginia couple was arrested in New York City Thursday for public lewdness ...

They ought to consider also tacking on a charge of "Penal Law § 240.21 Disruption, or disturbance of religious service""

A person is guilty ...who makes unreasonable ...disturbance while at a lawfully assembled religious service or within one hundred feet thereof, with intent to cause annoyance or alarm or recklessly creating a risk thereof Aggravated disorderly conduct is a class A misdemeanor.

It sure sounds like they were recklessly creating a risk of disruption to me.

If there were any children present, the couple should be neutered. Seriously.

Florence was rushed to St. Clares Hospital, complaining he had thrown his back out. He told cops it was a pre-existing condition.

I bet the cops wish they could have thrown his back out a little more.

Unbelievable," said New Yorker Ren Brown. "I try not to judge, but that's just going too far."

Gee, Ron, do you think you could make just a 'bit' of a judgement and call it what it is? An unmarried couple having sex in a church and you 'don't want to judge'? What would it take for you to call it what it is? Sacrifices on the altar? Islamic rituals in the church? Even Christ threw the money changers out of the temple and if I remember the verses He was pretty upset. What has this nation come to? Don't answer I already know

FUNNY????

Would you consider it FUNNY if strangers took a crap on your mother's head for a radio "stunt"?

That's how I feel about this "stunt": NOT FUNNY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am glad these vile slobs were caught.

If they weren't, they would have finished their business, no one would have known, and life would have gone on no worse for the wear. I assume the locals belive that their deity would have handled the blasphemers in an appropriate fashion.

a radio stunt that outraged parishioners and church officials.

I guess they're not used to heterosexual sex there.

Note that these cowards didn't try this in an Islamic mosque.

/1/ They would be jailed for a hate crime

/2/ They would be hunted down and killed after a religious fatwa was put on them.

Funny? You think doing such a sacrilegious act in a house of God is funny? Do us all a favor if you are in Croatia. Stay there!

I can't tell you how many times I've walked through that exact part of that cathedral with my kids. Easily dozens.

That said, even without the addresses it would've been obvious the two idiots were out of towners. There are several places within the Cathedral where you could quietly copulate without getting caught. Damn amateurs.

I'm not Catholic, but it is not funny to deliberately go into a place someone else considers sacred and do something to degrade it. These people are pigs, and anybody who thinks it is funny is a pig. What has happened to common decency and respect for others?
