Walrath For Congress vs. Sherry Boehlert

It's Time For A Change in the GOP

Dr. Walrath has long embraced the true Republican beliefs of individual freedoms as stated in the Bill of Rights, fewer taxes, smaller government, a strong military, and protecting the social security promise.

As a small business owner for over 25 years with a successful general surgery practice in Auburn, NY, Dr. Walrath is gravely concerned with the maze of regulations that hurt small businesses.

"I don't like what I see in our area's economy or how we're handling health care." Oneida County was 12th in the nation out of 3,100 counties in population loss in the 1990's. Broome County was 16th.

"I am humbled by the amount of interest and support from national Republicans. These people are equally concerned with Mr. Boehlert's liberal voting record of 20 years, and feel as I do that it's time for a change to have a true Republican to support the GOP and President Bush."

Dr. Walrath is a Cayuga County Legislator and Deputy Chairman. He has received the endorsement of the Cayuga County GOP in this year's election. Dr. Walrath has also received the New York State Conservative Party's endorsement for the 24th District.

If you are a registered Republican be sure to vote in the Republican Primary on September 10, 2002! If you would like to help David Walrath bring change to our district we would welcome your participation. Call us at 315-255-1775 or email at David@WalrathForCongress.com

In today's Ithaca Journal, Boehlert said "he usually votes Republican unless he believes a bill is bad for New York."

If that's so, here are few things that Boehlert thinks are "bad for New York":

Requirng a two-thirds majority vote of the entire House and Senate to pass any tax increase.
Making it a criminal offense to injure or kill a fetus during the commission of a violent crime.
A Ban on Partial Birth Abortions
Scholarships for students from consistently low-performing of dangerous schools that could be used at private, including religious schools.
Making English the official language.

And here are a few things that Boehlert must think are good for New York:

Clinton-era workplace regulations
funding the National Endowment of the arts.
lifting the embargo on Cuba
keeping files on all gun owners who undergo background checks
extending city employees' health benefits to unmarried domestic partners
requiring federal contractors and other recipients of federal assistance to provide unlimited translators for people who don’t speak english

STOP THE RINO!!!!

....owner for over 25 years with a successful general surgery practice in Auburn, NY, Dr. Walrath is gravely concerned...

Perhaps "gravely" is not the best adverb to use here.

With all the re-districting that recently happened, I'm no longer sure if I'm in these jokers' district.

But it'd be sure nice to knock out the RINO in the primary and end it (and send a message to the other RINOs out there).

Oh goodie, I get to see another one of my RINO buddies kick some butt, like we have been doing all primary season long. This particular mission is one of the most kamakazie like yet seen. The boy would be very lucky to break 30%.

I can live with a RINO here and there. This is NY, after all. It's hard to get a true conservative elected.

But Boehlert has a lifetime ACU rating that's more in line with a number of Democrats than with a Republican.

This guy is not a moderate republican.

This guy is not a liberal republican.

This guy is a DEMOCRAT.

Ya Boelert is even more liberal than I am. He is probably the most liberal Pubbie in the House except for Morella. If he lost the primary though, the seat would go Dem. Gore and Bush ran even here, and some of the Bush voters would desert if he were knocked off. But he won't be knocked off.

Here in our district we have the luxury this time of no dem running in the general election. The only "real" contest is right now between the RINO and the conservative. And ironically Boehlert is running in one of the more conservative districts in NY

My opinion is: if the choice is between a dem and a RINO support the RINO. If the RINO has the best chance in a general election, support the RINO. But if there is no dem threat support the Conservative.

Good point, which I thought of after I posted. The right winger would be good for one term anyway before he probably got canned in this district.

Boehlert has a 36 lifetime rating from the ACU, which puts him to the left of many Democrats. He is a true RINO and needs to go.

Any reports on how this race is going? I know Vickers came close two years ago with no money. I hope Walrath wins it.

I know that Walrath's campaign is looking for poll watchers. If you go to his website you can probably find contact information.
