I do wonder why President George W. Bush didn't ever mention a specific link between Saddam and UBL. Maybe he was waiting for the right time to play the card?

We have to build more cruise missiles and JMATs. It's a simple as that.

No use starting a war and running out of bullets half way through.

The difference here is that the pubbies don't look as dumb now that the Clinton's aren't using the NSA to bug the leadership.

I don't think W would stoop to that level, but we all know that the capability is there.

This means that Pres. Bush needs no additional congressional approval.

He didn't need it anyway. SJ Res 23 is quite clear. Bush, and Bush alone, gets to decide who's responsible, and order appropriate military action against them.

This explains why Blair has been so rock-solid, unhesitatingly firm in his support. He has seemed even more eager that W to get it on. Now we know why.

Exactly. I believe that's called "counting the cost."

Actually, I don't think that we need a direct Saddam -UBL link to take out Saddam.

The fact that he wants to kill all of us and is working diligently to procure the means to do so is enough for me.

Some people just need to be incarcerated or dead.

Saddam-"Camel-Lover" Hussein is one of these.

I understand, but at least he could have hinted at the link.

There's something about Dubya that you need to understand. it goes back even before he was Governor of Texas, but that's when I first found out about it.

He doesn't like leaks. He doesn't like hints. In fact, he mostly hates them.

He's really honest and he never lies. However, he doesn't tell you what he knows until it suits his purpose.

It can drive some of us nuts, but it's not a recent development. He's always been that way.

And if he tells you something in confidence, and you spread it, you're toast as far as he's concerned. You had better be as tight-lipped as he is if you want to stay in the loop.

And I LOVE his honesty. But he needs to have a reason for withholding this info or the Dems will try to roast him for it. That was my point. (Not that they'll succeed)

The President is a genius for having Blair announce this.

I really think this has more to do with giving up knowledge about Intelligence sources. Britain has some that are fairly well known, so they don't risk losing them - or the people - like we do.
Blair and Bush are giving up information in the safest ways, I think. Neither of them cares about a p*****g contest to see which one knows more. They know what they want to do, and intend to do it in the most effective way.

And, aren't we lucky to have men like this in office at the time when we need them most?

I doubt that ever even enters his thinking. He expects the Democrats to always be trying to roast him for something.

I'm not even sure the ties to Saddam have been known for very long. But if Britain is about to reveal them, then Bush and Blair decided on this game plan last Saturday. The timing and manner was carefully planned for maximum effect.

Yes they would like to know what his next move is.
It would them plan their strategy!

Methinks he knows the identity of the infamous Congressional leaker.

Checkmate :-)

I love the way the disclosures are being orchestrated!

The Beltway Boys had a reporter on that seems to be tied in closely to the happenings and planning of the Bush Administration. Talked a good deal about the Bush Sept 11 performance. Interesting!

Bush and crew are kicking some serious Democratic butt now!
