Exactly how many protesters would have been tolerated during the Clinton hearings? And THAT was with a Republican leadership!

In my opinion this was a security breech of the first order. This is not a venue for protests. It is a fact-finding committee.

I believe the democrats on the committee made sure these protesters were there and sitting right behind Sec. Rumsfield so they would be centered in the camera. Have to get that sound bite for the evening news, don't you know?

Yes, but it took forever [to remove them from the room] and they were yammering at the top of their lungs about "Inspections Not War" and "It's all about OIL" the whole time. And ripping off their shirts, to show the antiwar-message T-shirts they were wearing underneath (for half a second I was afraid we were all going to see Medea's boobies).

The MC or whoever it was then quipped "We'll put them down as 'undecided'" and the whole room cracked up.

Makes me feel great that a potential assassin could probably get just as close as a professional disruptor.
