Gun Control Horror
www.sierratimes.com ^ | 10. 12. 02 | Ted Lang

Posted on 10/13/2002 1:01:31 PM PDT by Tailgunner Joe

The efforts of Sarah Brady, the Million Moms and the Violence Policy Center, supported by incessant, aggressive marketing by the liberal media, brought pressure on the FAA to disarm pilots that had been routinely carrying handguns prior to 9-11. Gun control propaganda advanced by this alliance disarmed pilots and 3,000 of our fellow Americans paid with their lives. Do the American people know this? Since most still get their "news" from the liberal TV information and communications "news" conglomerates and The New York Times, most Americans do not know this fact because it was suppressed with the same mindset that blacked out President Bush’s speech on October 7th. And the media continue to black out the horrific statistics of increasing, out-of-control gun violence in England and Australia after 100% gun bans.

Here in the States, where individual freedom struggles to retain any semblance of its original form as Democrats struggle to "face down individualism," gun abolitionists keep assaulting and torturing law-abiding gun owners who wish only to be simply left alone. Abolitionists can now reflect, along with the rest of the nation, upon the bitter fruits of their labors!

In Maryland, one gun-abusing homicidal maniac is toying with both the police and the citizenry, as he casually kills at will in precisely the same manner as did Colin Ferguson, the Long Island Railroad shooter, and mass murderer George Hennard at Luby’s Cafeteria. What did these killers have in common? The knowledge that their victims were unarmed and unable to retaliate or protect themselves.

Isn’t the area involved, Maryland, the State where Governor Paris Glendening dismissed a demonstration showing "smart gun technology" doesn’t work, and insisted it become law anyway thereby further infringing on Americans’ Second Amendment protections and freedoms? Isn’t this in the DC area where there is a 100% ban on all firearms, and in spite of this, one of America’s highest gun violence cities?

Law-abiding citizens are basically disarmed, so the killer or killers know that should such citizens confront them, they can be summarily dispatched with ease. Gun controllers always offer: Why do you need a gun when we have the police? Of course, the know-it-all media, Sarah Brady, and the rest of the fraud peddlers agitating for the incremental abolition of all citizen ownership of firearms will offer that law-abiding citizens aren’t qualified to stop "professional" armed criminals. At present, it doesn’t seem that the police are as qualified as Ms. Brady and her ilk constantly proclaim them to be.

And what about the Million Moms’ rehearsed argument that all they seek is "sensible" gun laws? Thomas Jefferson wasn’t sensible? James Madison wasn’t sensible? Abraham Lincoln wasn’t sensible? For them, only Bill and Hill Clinton are sensible. But they feel they’re in good company, what with their philosophy of freedom being similar to that of Robert Torricelli and Shakespeare aficionado Barbra Streisand.

Of all the places for serial shootings, why here in gun control Heaven on Earth? And as Maryland and the DC area and its victimized citizens writhe in helpless agony, in the State of New Jersey, domicile of Robert Torricelli and Donald Di Francesco, the State Senate is maneuvering yet more "smart gun" technology, defined more accurately as "wizardry," into reality. The technology hasn’t even been developed yet.

Originally conceived to serve police officers to protect their families and children, police around the nation have resisted the shaky Buck Rogers technology, which has been demonstrated to be unreliable both in the Maryland as well as New Jersey legislatures where prototypes were introduced and demonstrated. So if police don’t want this Frankenstein, the people’s "representatives" figure they’ll saddle the law-abiding populace with this horror instead.

Perhaps the people of New Jersey would be better served if legislators would initiate impeachment procedures against the State’s seven Supreme Court Justices as opposed to challenging the creative engineering skills of John Moses Browning and former resident Samuel Colt.

What kind of country is it when one neurotic liberal nutcase can take a personal tragedy and use it to flush the freedoms of 250 million Americans down the toilet?

Does anyone know where I or We can get the info that would back up the statement that the anti-gunners were behind getting firearms out of the pilots hands. Seems like that just happend within the past few years. I would like to get this info to Fox. I think they might run something on it.

This is exactly what you should expect in a Democracy.

The Bureau of Justice Statistics in the U.S. Justice Department annually publishes a very voluminous book of data on Crime.

For WEAPON RELATED VIOLENT CRIME:
(most current data)

Not sure if a Weapon used = 7%
Total Non-Firearm = 17%
TOTAL FIREARM = 9% (all types of guns)
NO WEAPON USED = 67%

I have yet to hear any Liberal, or pimp of the election industry, including the media, address the VIOLENT CRIME WITH NO WEAPON USED!

3 weeks before the mid-term elections I IMHO think this is great that the rats are making gun control an issue. Amazing the rats made an issue of Iraq for the last two weeks and then had to tuck tail and toe the line. They are not playing this election very smartly.

There is a reason why the two "snipers" around Washington have done almost all their attacks in a state hostile to gun ownership and hostile to CCW - while doing almost none in a neighboring state 20 minutes away that is favorable to gun ownership and favorable to CCW. And it isn't different phases of the moon depending on which state you are in.

The only likely reason they have avoided Virginia almost entirely is fear that the woman in the minivan parked next to them will both see their muzzle flash and realize what is happening - and be carrying both her CCW permit and her Sig in her purse.

How skilled are the Washington "snipers," anyway?

So while Glendingaling and KattownKennedy cry for Smart Gun Technolgy, the VPC (Formerly Brady Bunch), have already moved on to the next step.

Condemning Smart Guns.

How can they demand it on hand and condemn it on the other?

Got me.

Read This!

The very existence and feasibility of the smart gun is speculative at best. The Violence Policy Center is aware of no working, reliable model of a personalized gun such as its advocates envision. Certainly, none is actually in everyday use today.

The only thing that will appease these harpys is the total ban and confiscation of all privately owned firearms in America.

And when the thugs who move tons of illegal drugs across our borders, start importing illegal guns for hoods, the shrill voices of VPC will demand and get more and more police.

Just look to the UK and Australia. There are now 2 million illegal handguns in the UK and thousands more arrive illegally every day. Yet I, a honest citizen can't arrive on their shores with my pocket knife that has a 2.75" blade.

Northern Virginia has local gun ordinances that are almost as arbitrary and oppressive as those in MD, & Washington D.C.

I implore all of you. The day WILL come when they will attempt to ban gun ownership. If this looks like it is happening, I implore you to remember why the Second Amendment was written and to make USE of your guns....ahh I mean your right to vote...ahem....

I do not know who is actually responsible for putting that thing together, but they really dropped the ball.

Why include the infamous "Elian" photo if you want to bring people to your side?

There were no people killed there. Hell, the soldier in the photo does not even have his finger on the trigger.

The fact is, action had to be taken when it was obvious the people who had that kid were not going to give the child up to his biological father.

Better pictures would have been stuff at Ruby Ridge, Waco, even Kent State would have been enough.

But whoever created that ad is putting forth a confusing message with the use of that particular photo.
