Russians storm theater Captors were 'liquidated,' officials say By John Daniszewski and David Holley By John Daniszewski and David Holley Los Angeles Times

MOSCOW -- Police commandos armed with sleeping gas and blazing guns stormed a theater here early today and overcame Chechen separatists holding about 700 hostages. Authorities said they were forced to launch the rescue after rebels began to kill captives. The leader of the hostage-takers and around 30 of his companions were "liquidated," officials said. There was still no official word about the toll among the hostages. An Australian diplomat was told that the number was no more than 10, and that none of the estimated 75 foreigners were among the dead. But a police officers said he saw "a lot of corpses."

"... You cannot dodge the fact, however, that you were ignorant of who was governor of Texas during Waco, and really thought you had a zinger for all the Bush supporters. All the spin in the world isn't going to get you out of the hole you dug for yourself. HAR!...

This is going to come as a shock to you but I do not think the way many of you do. Not only did I know who was Governor I actually--naively, because I was very, very naive at the time--wrote her an earnest, polite letter. I also wrote a letter to the "new" governor when he took office expressing my hope that he might open some sort of investigation. So you are right to laugh at me. Imagine, writing polite, earnest letters to these figureheads.....

"Police in Tacoma, Washington, are also taking another look at the February 16 slaying of 21-year-old Keenya Cook. She was killed with a single shot from a high-caliber handgun as she cooked dinner in her aunt's home.

The woman's aunt, Isa Nichols, was Williams' friend.

No. I'm a reactionary. The ultimate refuge of the politically impotent, I guess.

Uh-huh. That's why you phrased it the way you did in your response.

You just cannot admit you made a mistake, can you?

SkyPilot , I wonder do you know where this picture is taken from??

Hi Ally--

That picture was taken in Israel. A mob of Islamics captured two uniformed IDF soldiers, and literally ripped them apart while they were still alive. The proud "student" wanted to show the mob his hands washed with their blood.

Here is what I had in my mind, but did not type because I was on my way out the door for a power walk and a champagne run--to toast those who survived the Moscow tragedy:

Who was president at the time of Ruby Ridge? Who was the governor of Idaho where it happened? Who was President at the time of Waco? Who was the governor of Texas where it happened? Who was President when marines were blown up in beruit? who was President when Americans were taken hostage in Iran? Who was President when the FIRST Trade Tower bombing occured? Who was President when the second Tade Tower bombing occured?

Does anybody detect a PATTERN here?

I DO apologise. For my continuing--apparently ineradicable--naivety about the nature of the conservatism on this fourm. I promise to avoid the near occassion of naivete in the future.

"Nevertheless, as former hostages were being taken away in buses, Deputy Interior Minister Vladimir Vasilyev told reporters: "We have succeeded in preventing massive death and the destruction of the building" by the militants, who had vowed to die in the name of Islam and for the cause of Chechen independence."

Another example of the peaceful religion of Islam.

Listen I know 60+ people were displaced by freedom fighters last night but does anyone know if anyone else that lived in the same city as Williams has been interviewed?

Don't you just love that word..liquidated

If you like that- you will LOVE the following quote from a 60 yr old Russian guy the interviewed near the scene:

But one bystander, Igor Konstantinov, in his 60s, was in no doubt about what he thought.

"Putin has only one choice. (U.S. President George W.) Bush showed the world what to do with these bastards after September 11. It's Putin's turn to liquidate them in Russia."

F__king yeah, baby!

Death to the oillah-based economy!!!

Really? What part do you plan to give up? Your car? Your electricity? Your heating and air conditioning?

You might make a small start by giving up the computer in front of you, which is made from petroleum (plastic).

Those Wacky Pranksters :-)

Seriesly though...
The TERRORISTS Chechens' audacious raid, less than three miles from the Kremlin, ignited a fresh debate here about the wisdom of Russia's war in the breakaway Caucasian republic.
At a school where the relatives of the hostages had held their vigil, women could be seen crying and men praying as they waited to hear whether their loved ones would be coming home. When the relatives heard that Barayev was dead, they cheered and whistled their approval.

And would that be a  debate  amongst the "everybody needs a hug" crowd that is so ridiculously pervasive in the media?     I sure as heck am not seeing  debate  here.   CHUMPS.

Muslims would machine-gun Susan Sarandon as soon as they had no further use for her.

They'd have no need to do that. She'd convert to Islam in a heartbeat.

"You have some serious reality problems. Or should I say "problemos"?

"Who was governor of the Great State of Texas at that time?"

Begging your pardon, LBDSM, but it is you who has the "problemo".

The Waco Massacre occurred on April 19, 1993.

George W. Bush was elected governor of Texas on November 5, 1994

Next time you practice a little gratuitous slurring, at least get your facts straight.

Fine. You like life on the plantation. But I don't want to hear any whining, then, about mean old mohammedanism because we who support the oil economy support the spread of mohammedanism. Money is fungible and oil is the coin of the realm.

Every time we fill up our SUV we put another weapon in the hands of a holy warrior. We buy the food that nourishes the stone thrower in shariah Nigeria. We buy the scimitar that lops off the foot of an escaping slave in the Sudan. We buy the boots that the "freedom fighter" in Kosovo is wearing as he kicks the Othodox nun he has just finised raping.

So don't worry. Be happy. Your forehead is down on the ground and your little hiney is sticking up in the air right next to John Muhammed's.

Allah is safe in his status quo heaven and all's right with the world.....

I see. We should go to alternaive energies and the Islamic terrorists will disappear.

You know, you could conserve energy and save Christendom by doing your part...such as refraining from using that petroleum-based keyboard and the electricity used to power it.

...Sleeping gas was let into the theatre hall through the ventilation, several grenades were fired right in the hall. We managed to liquidate the female kamikaze: soldiers penetrated into the hall through special crawlways and shot the sleeping terrorists point-blank. Right at the temple. I agree that it?s cruel, but when you see a man with two kilograms of plastid strapped to the body, there is no other way to neutralize him. Besides, panic spread immediately....

I wish that interview could be played on Al-Jazeera. But it won't even find any playtime on American TV.

The howling here is a silent rage. Islam is gauging it very closely. If they are not, they should be.

I've come to believe that they are unable to gauge Western reactions.

Maybe it's partly because Clinton let so many attacks go by with minimal to no response such as the attacks on U.S. embassies, the first WTC bombing, the Cole bombing, etc. The Europeans have been lying down supinely while the Muslims are flooding into their countries and the rape/theft crime rates have drastically gone up accordingly. The Russians left Chechnaya in 1996 and the rate of Chech attacks, including scores of kidnapping Russians for ransom money not only didn't abate, but rose dramatically. The Russians had to re-invade in 1999 to try and stop Chech attacks, but have been ham-strung by Western criticism.

Maybe all this seeming passivity caused the terrorists to be cocky. So cocky they trained in the U.S., stole our planes and wreaked our proudest buildings with great lose of life. Surprise for them, though, Bush isn't Clinton and al-Queda has been on the run ever since. But they haven't learned a thing from Afghanistan, the Muslim terrorists are upping the ante. They are now wildly striking out all over the world: the Moscow theater, Bali, the French tanker, and so on. What they aren't able to gauge is that they are establishing themselves as mad dogs that HAVE to be killed, and revealing their *religion* as a demonic dealth cult. We're scared of them, all right - scared in the sense of pulling out a gun to shoot a mad dog. That, they can't understand. They're too insulated, too ignorant, too blinded by their cult-fanaticism.

And the inter-connectedness of this was so plainly shown by the Chech terrorists in the Moscow attack phoning Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and other Muslim countries. It's not "rebels" in Chechnaya, "separationists" in Indonesia, and Palestinian "protesters". It's all Muslim terrorism and largely funded by Saudi Arabia with it's virulent brand of Wahhabi Islam, and with additional funding from Iraq and other Arabic states.
