WASHINGTON - Republicans blasted Sen. Hillary Clinton yesterday for suggesting President Bush wants regime change in Iraq to settle his father's old score with Saddam Hussein.White House spokesman Ken Lisaius said simply that Bush is targeting the Iraqi dictator only because of "the threat posed by weapons of mass destruction in the possession of Saddam Hussein. ... The President has been amazingly clear with the American people and the world."
The Republican National Committee, however, had much harsher words for New York's junior senator.
Voting to use force
"A cheap, political potshot," RNC spokesman Kevin Sheridan said.
"Unless she's impugning her own vote [authorizing Bush to use military force if necessary], that argument doesn't hold water," Sheridan said. "He's settling a score for the American people to rid the world of terrorism wherever it rears its head."
The White House and the GOP were responding to comments that Clinton (D-N.Y.) made on MSNBC's "Hardball" Wednesday night.
"It is clear that a lot of people in this administration have some old scores to settle," Clinton said.
She appeared to be referring to the 1991 Gulf War in which President George Bush evicted Saddam from Kuwait but left him standing. Saddam later tried to assassinate the former President when Bush visited Kuwait.
"There are old scores to settle, Mrs. Clinton - about a million people who have died at the hands of the Butcher of Baghdad," said Rep. Mark Foley (R-Fla.).
"This isn't a back-alley fight between two kids. This is for real, and there isn't time for a listening tour to make up your mind on where to stand," Foley said in a jab at Clinton for her pre-campaign exploratory travels throughout New York State.
Clinton, who voted to authorize the use of force against Saddam, agreed repeatedly with Bush on the threat that Saddam poses but said he appears too eager for military action.
"Carrying a big stick is one thing, but to talk all the time like you are inviting war, that you're anxious to go to war, I think does a great disservice to our nation, and I just don't agree with that approach," she said.
Last night, Clinton spokeswoman Philippe Reines said, "Sen. Clinton gave a full and a reasoned analysis of why she supports the administration on the war, and it is unfortunate that the RNC is treating it as a political issue."
So, what approach do you agree with mrs. xlinton? Would it be one where your husband receives oral while discussing troop movements? Or maybe, the approach of continuing to do nothing so as to not alienate some particular minority voting block.
This lesbian belongs in jail and here she is receiving a love fest on national T.V. I did not see the show but, I'm sure chrissy gave her the softball treatment.

Spoken like a Clinton. It is not actions, or even substantive policies, that matter, but rather words, attitudes, intentions, symbolism, appearances. Thank God these purile posers are out of the whitehouse.
Where does Rep. Foley stand now on his 'stupid' remark. It's amazing that the article lets it stand without comment!
That's because, you sorry caterwauling shrew, when it comes to foreign policy and dealing with aggression you and your Stubby Hubby couldn't buy a clue with all the money in China.
I bet she sucks at poker
After the 1993 World Trade Center bombing, which killed six and injured 1,000; Clinton promised that those responsible would be hunted down and punished. He said the same thing after the 1995 bombing in Saudi Arabia that killed five U.S. military personnel. Then again in 1996 after the Khobar Towers bombing in Saudi Arabia where 19 were killed and 200 U.S. military personnel were injured. He mouthed more of the same in 1998 after the bombing of two U.S. embassies in Africa that left 224 and another 5,000 injured. And in 2000 after 17 U.S. sailors were killed and 39 were injured when the USS Cole was bombed.
Maybe if Clinton had kept any of his promises starting with 1993, all those people and an estimated 3,000 others in New York and Washington, D.C. that are now dead would be alive today. Instead when Osama bin Laden was offered to Clinton he refused to accept custody and prosecute a known terrorist opting to prosecute Bill Gates instead.
Oh, yeah, Hillary, there are scores to settle alright.
More like he's ordering him to obey the collective, or there could ba a little arkansaside in his future.
"Paul, I'm sure I don't have to remind you of the story about man named Ron Brown, now do I?"
At first I thought it said "pimping," which on second thought I decided was entirely appropriate.
AMEN to that!
Not until Clintonese is only spoken in Hell, Hill & Bill are behind bars and small children either laugh mockingly or pretend to vomit when their names are mentioned will the score be settled.
And they're being forced to put the overwhelming numbers of homeless on cruse ships. They just keep comming to NY. Probably because socialists are in charge of the states pork. The "village" will give them their every need.
NY is falling apart at the seams.
Where's Hillary? Seeking her legacy....somewhere....anywhere....to any body who'll listen to her Marxist trash.
Hillary is and always has been a miserable failure with anything she's ever touched.
