A chance to influence Houston freeway construction plans.

You can bet the leftist will be there, proposing al sorts of goofy, expensive ways to spend your tax dollars that will do nothing to improve traffic mobility. Houston FReepers need to make sure their voice is heard too.

I hope Presidente Fox's interests will be properly represented. The improvement of any road in this area will help expedite the shipment of drugs, illegals and terrorist material into the heartland of the US. Mexican drug lords, politicians, and military will certainly support these construction costs.

Hardly, since this part of I-45 goes from Galveston Island to Houston, with little direct access to roads leading to Mexico.

I work that night, but my husband plans on attending. Thanks for the heads-up.

That section of I-45 is bottlenecked something awful. IMHO, something needs to be done about the flow [or lack of flow] of traffic; there is a daily stall/standstill of traffic along that section/stretch of I-45. BUT, if construction is anything like current construction on overpasses... it will be just another nightmare. I have quit a job, and turned down jobs just because of that nightmare bottlenecked section.

I lived in Houston for five years and what to me appears to be the problem is that there are no alternate routes. A quick fix might be to extend the Hardy Toll Road through downtown Houston somehow and widen anything.
