His problem is that the majority of rank and file members of his own party wince whenever his face pops up on the tube.

Well, you should tell your Senators to vote for somebody else for Leader. They just voted, unanimously, in October to re-elect him.

The GOP Senators, it seems to me, get to have as leader whomever they want.

I don't wince. He's not my first choice, but he's a hell of a lot better than any Democrat who's in there, or John McCain.

But can Lott lead?? Naaah -- can't see it.

He was soft before -- It was painful to watch him grovel during the press conference...

You did a good job here sink no matter where ti goes from here. Consider your hand shook.

Back at ya.

This actually looks like it might blow over.

Americans are concerned about the war on terror and the economy. And they don't watch the cable channels like we do, either.

If Hussein's gone in 2004 and the economy's growing, this incident won't even register on the consciousness of the voting public.

I've made it very clear repeatedly. I want him to step dwon from the Majority Leadership for 1000 reasons that predate this mother of all gaffes and his subsequent groveling before the race pimps in the RAT party.

But for him to resign his Senate seat and further empower the Daschle Deemocrats would be a betrayal of the GOP of epic proportions---his name would live in political infamy forever.

Sorry, I live in a State that still has two RAT Senators...and part of the reason is that Lott and the other incompetent Senate political leadership were outmaneuvered by the RATS here on November 5th.

If they are allowed a repeat performance, I will be saying the same thing in December of 2004.

Lot's pennance will be to lead the Republicans to vote for every morsel of pork the Black Caucus wants or that the Dims threaten him with.

Amen.

Lott's remarks have destroyed any credibility we were building with the black community.

Either we have credibility NOW with the black community, or we don't. George W. Bush is the face of the Republican party, not Trent Lott. He is doing what he needs to do to build whatever credibility needs to be built.

Plantation blacks would vote for Democrats if Trent Lott gave every one of them $1,000, and mopped their floors as penance for his remarks.

Blacks belong to a party that tolerates the racism of Jesse Jackson, but won't belong to a party where every stumble results in a royal grovel.

Does that make sense to you?

Who do you suggest replace Lott?

Santorum, Nickles, McConnell...in that order...but I consider Nickles to be the most likely successor.

Frist did nothing but help RINOs in 2002, thereby disqualifying himself, at least in my opinion.
