FBI Looking for Five Illegal Immigrants

The Associated Press
Sunday, December 29, 2002; 4:23 PM

WASHINGTON –– The FBI said Sunday it is looking for five men of Arab ancestry who may have entered the country illegally last week.

The agency said the five men are believed to have arrived in the United States on or before Christmas Eve.

The five men are: Abid Noraiz Ali, Iftikhar Khozmai Ali, Mustafa Khan Owasi, Adil Pervez and Akbar Jamal, all born between 1969 and 1983. The FBI warned that the names and birth dates may be false.

The FBI said it had no indication the men were linked to terrorist activities, but still wanted to question the five "based upon information developed in the course of ongoing investigations."

The FBI said it was working with the Customs, Immigration and Naturalization Service and the Transportation Security Agency to find the men.

Well, even if the darn car is abandoned we'd need to check if for chem, bio, or radiological traces. It could give us a heads up. We need the car, darn it. Where's the description?

If you view the video tape that appears to be a pre suicide tape, it is very scary.

Jimbo, we don't know what country issued the passport photo's, or if they had one, we are ALL speculating...

Good thinking, badfreeper. Perhaps some passengers reported they acted suspiciously and they didn't drive over the border by car after all.

Maybe the FBI shaved the "faces" for all intents and purposes?

Take your meds and try to help instead throwing the BS around.

The blame game can be played later.

Right, now if you really care about your fellow Americans get this link out to your friends and family and others on your email list!

Without the sound, the video of the one Islamokazi is very scary.

It's like looking for a needle in a haystack. The only way to secure the nation is to secure the borders and make citizens of "terrorist" nations unwelcome.

Ashcroft Releases Name of Fifth Suspected Al Qaeda Member

Suspect is 36-year-old Canadian citizen born in Tunisia

Attorney General John Ashcroft says the U.S. government has identified a Canadian man as the fifth suspected al Qaeda member seen delivering martyrdom messages in videotapes discovered in the bombed out residence in Afghanistan of Mohammed Atef, believed to have been Osama bin Laden's military chief.

The man is Al-Rauf bin Al Habib bin Yousef Al-Jiddi, 36, a Canadian citizen born in Tunisia, Ashcroft said in remarks prepared for delivery at a January 25 news conference.

"We identified Al-Jiddi through discovery of a suicide letter found in the ruins of the Atef residence by U.S. military personnel in Afghanistan," the attorney general said. "The letter, which is still being analyzed, was recently translated. In addition, the Canadian government assisted us in identifying Al-Jiddi."

The Justice Department last week released videos and photos of five suspected members of al-Qaeda. It identified the other four men but the fifth man's identify was not known at the time.

Ashcroft said the FBI also is looking for an associate of Al-Jiddi, identified as Faker Boussora, 37, also a Canadian citizen born in Tunisia. Boussora may be traveling with Al-Jiddi and "both individuals should be considered extremely dangerous," Ashcroft said.

He urged anyone who believes that he or she knows the identity or the whereabouts of Al-Jiddi, Boussora, or the four other suspected terrorists to contact the nearest FBI office or visit the FBI's website -- www.ifccfbi.gov -- or contact a U.S. embassy or consulate if they are unable to contact the FBI.

Algerian would make sense because one of the terrorist groups in Seattle, on that map that we used to see posted, was Algerian.

It took for ever to load the first part. I have viewed it a couple of times. The Islamokazi in the video is really very nervous, shaky and intent. He probably left a suicide letter with the video.

Somehow the FBI got the video and knows who his companions are. Now they are asking for our help to get these pictures around. I sent the link to all on my email address list.

This is bad news. The shoe may be about to drop, if this guys are now on a suicide mission.

We can only hope those in the muslim community will pick up something and alert the feds, because these guys have probably, as others said, gone to ground in a safe house somewhere.

Following are Ashcroft's remarks as prepared for delivery:

U.S. Department of Justice Prepared Remarks of Attorney General John Ashcroft Fifth Suspected Terrorist Press Conference January 25, 2002

Last Thursday, along with FBI Director Mueller, the Department of Justice released photographs and video of five suspected terrorists. Our initial analysis of the video indicated that the videotapes depicted young men delivering what appeared to be martyrdom messages from suicide terrorists. As of last week, we had identified four of the individuals -- Ramzi Binalshibh, Abd Al-Rahim, Muhammed Sa'id Ali Hasan, and Khalid Ibn Muhammad Al-Juhani. At that time, the identity of the fifth suspected terrorist remained unknown.

Over the last week, we have received hundreds of leads from conscientious citizens across the country and around the world. With these leads and further analysis of the evidence recovered from the rubble of Mohammed Atef's house in Afghanistan, we have gained additional information about the fifth suspected terrorist. The name of the fifth terrorist is Al-Rauf bin Al Habib bin Yousef Al-Jiddi. Al-Jiddi, who is a Canadian citizen and was born in Tunisia is 36 years old. He has black hair, is approximately 5'10" and may weigh approximately 220 pounds. We identified Al-Jiddi through discovery of a suicide letter found in the ruins of the Atef residence by U.S. military personnel in Afghanistan. The letter, which is still being analyzed, was recently translated. In addition, the Canadian government assisted us in identifying Al-Jiddi.

We have also identified an associate who may be traveling with Al-Jiddi. His name is Faker Boussora. He is 37 years of age, is approximately 5'8", weighs approximately 160 to 170 pounds, and has a round face and prominent ears. We believe Boussora may also be involved in a martyrdom mission. Boussora also is a Canadian citizen born in Tunisia.

The FBI has alerted law enforcement authorities across the United States and is also working closely with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. Both individuals should be considered extremely dangerous. Additionally, the FBI has provided law enforcement with the same pictures you see to my left. The photograph in the upper left is the picture you saw last week of Al-Jiddi taken from the video. Below that picture, is a photograph retouched by the FBI to show how Al-Jiddi may look with a westernized appearance. The picture in the upper right was found with the 1999 suicide letter. Finally, the picture in the lower right corner is Faker Boussora, Al-Jiddi's associate.

Today I am also disclosing FBI retouched photographs of the other 4 individuals seen on the video recovered from Atef's residence in Afghanistan. Again, these retouched photos show how these individuals may look with a westernized appearance. We hope that by providing these photos to the media that citizens will be able to help law enforcement identify and apprehend these terrorists.

In particular, I would like to thank the Canadian government for providing significant assistance in the identification of Al-Jiddi. Today's announcement demonstrates the extraordinarily close and cooperative relationship that has been built between the United States and Canadian law enforcement.

Today's announcement is another example of the integrated effort we are pursuing to protect all people -- of all nations -- from cowardly acts of terrorism. It is a seamless effort that involves civil authorities, military authorities, intelligence resources, intelligence analysis, law enforcement, and the cooperation of foreign governments. As we discover more information, we will continue to share it with the international community to assist our efforts against terrorism.

Again, I want to advise the public to exercise vigilance and common sense in the face of a terrorism threat. Anyone who believes that he or she knows the identity or the whereabouts of Al-Jiddi, Boussora, or the four other suspected terrorists is urged to contact the nearest FBI office or visit the FBI's website -- www.ifccfbi.gov -- or contact the U.S. embassy or consulate in a foreign setting if they are unable to contact the FBI.

Thank you. Now, I will be happy to take questions.

BUT, soon as I can log on to Mr. Spectre's laptop, instead of WEBTV, I'll watch the scarey video...geeeze!
