I nominated the Thune thread not because I started it... but because it chronicled how a senate seat was stolen away from us right under our eyes. We watched it happen online. They used to have to do that sort of thing in the "dark of night"...

The worst: Someone (me, actually) posted the winner in some World's Funniest Joke contest. Unfortunately it led hundreds of Freepers to post their own idea of a funny joke. It went on for days, much to my embarrassment.

I'd vote for mine about Bob Shrum writing the Wellstone Eulogy and planning the Funerally. I say this not out of egotism, but because several Freepers made a point of discounting my report as "hearsay".

I found the thread about capturing the snipers sleeping in their cars to be fascinating and kept me up for a long time. Course it had the play by play of the Tree Stump being carted away in a UHaul.
