Single Guys Paying for Everything
MSNBC ^ | 28 Jan 2003 | Alex Johnson

To all families of 4 making 40k a year:

From MSNBC "The president called on Congress to make years of projected tax cuts effective immediately, saying that a family of four with an income of $40,000 would see its federal tax bill fall from $1,178 a year to just $45."

Swell, so that means that the costs of running this society are in the hands of the single people? This is typical. I believe we should all share in running this place together, but this seems quite unfair. What logic comes up a plan that penalizes someone who has worked VERY hard their entire life, sacrified family, friends, and in some cases well being?

I didn't get married to the first thing I saw, or take some nothing job below median income and didn't get stuck with 2 kids because of improper family planning. That's my fault? Now I have to pay 12K a year in Federal Taxes while you families of 4 making 40K a year live off my blood, sweat, and tears?

They are YOUR kids, it isn't my fault you have a family. You should pay AT LEAST as much as I do, your kids are draining the economy. Your kids are using the public schools, parks, libraries, etc... that I am paying for. Like I said earlier, I don't mind paying for these things, someone paid for them when I was a kid, but why should I have to pay more than you? YOU are the one with the poorly planned family, not me.

Who in their right mind would have 2 kids if they only make 40K a year? What were you thinking? How are you going to raise them to be productive members of society? How could you clothe them? How can you send them to college? How can you pay for their after school activities? Oh wait I know, you can afford to do these things because you aren't paying your share of federal tax.

You're absolutely right, glory. And MochaMan may never know the truly rewarding and fulfilling experience of touching the future in sharing his life with a mate and wonderful children. How sad.

Frankly, I could care less what a sales tax may or may not do for government, I am more interested in the advantages and increase in freedom and privacy for the individual and as a more appropriate tax for a Constitutional Republic in the visibility of the retail sales tax which encourages accountability of government to the electorate:

Brilliant! If only it could happen...

So, you have a big house, an "imported" car, a boat, a plane, and a place in Aspen. Good for you. Without children, you will just die a lonely, selfish old man, wondering where he went wrong.

Anecdotal. For every mean old codger with a Porsche in the garage I can show a dysfunctional family where the kids hate the parents or vice versa.

Being single, old & rich doesn't mean you can't be saved.

Sure, we might have to pay higher taxes but hey we can watch tv while sitting on the sofa in our underwear and we can throw our soda cans on the floor without anyone yelling at us. LOL! So it ain't all bad!
