“A symbolic gesture of joy"

“A symbolic gesture of joy"

What follows is the defense, the apology, by Edward Said, who went to Lebanon and threw a rock at an Israeli guard building over the boarder. He was roundly condemned for this act. This is the leading intellectual of MESA, advisers to the Clintons Administration, policy makers for 8 years?!

MESA is still extorting funds from the government.

CASTING A STONE: University Professor Edward Said aroused controversy in July when, during a visit to Lebanon, he was portrayed in a photograph hurling a stone toward the Israeli border. The photograph was distributed by the French news agency Agence France-Presse and published in the New York Daily News and the Columbia Summer Spectator, among other media outlets. Said claimed he did not aim the stone at Israeli soldiers, and according to an account in the Lebanese newspaper As-Safir, it did not hit anyone, but rather struck a barbed wire fence in front of a watchtower from which Israeli flags were flying. The action received significant media coverage in the Middle East: critics labeled it inflammatory, while Said described it in a written statement as “a symbolic gesture of joy that the occupation had ended.”

God, what a buffoon!

"A symbolic gesture of joy."

My stomach is aching from laughter.

That phrase will forever bring a smile to my face, A symbolic gesture of joy. It is such a flowing phrase. A symbolic gesture of joy.

Do you think that when all the “capitalist”, “Zionist” "rhetoric" is stripped away, terrorism at its essence is nothing more than "A symbolic gesture of Joy?" God I love that phrase! I bet the Harvard Lampoon was jealous as hell when they read that.

I thank God none of my intellectual heroes has ever picked up an M-16, loaded it with a blank (or real) bullet, fired it in the direction of another nation, and called it a "symbolic gesture of joy."

I've coined a new name for these hypocrites and academic frauds, "Symbolic Terrorists."

Yeah, sure Eddie. Nothing says "I'm happy!" quite like throwing rocks at Jews, eh? What a maroon!
