A little bit of background. Duly-elected State Assemblyman Steve Samuelian is one of the most fierce conservative Republicans in the State of California. He's also a human being. About three weeks ago on a Saturday night at 9:45 he drove into a gas station to ask for directions. The female police officer gave him directions and then sent him on his way.

Okay, come on, you holier-than-thou freepers, condemn me for posting this and for defending Assemblyman Samuelian, my good friend. They made fun of me on KMJ radio last night. Give me your best shot. For victory & freedom!!!

Meanwhile, Steve could have been one of the greatest Assemblyman ever. Meanwhile these same Republicans never said a peep about NICOLE PARRA, the democrat who got elected in the same election as Steve by VOTER FRAUD. Like I said - Sheeeesh!

Yesterday, the DA's office decided not to press charges, meaning there never was a crime.

Oh, boy. Can I quote you the next time someone puts up a Clinton thread and accuses him (or her) of all kinds of crimes he was investigated for but never charged for?

"holier-than-thou Republicans"

Huh? You want us to act like the Demorats? Or would you prefer they act like us on these matters?

In September 1998, Samuelian was cited for soliciting an undercover police officer in the same block of Parkway Drive. He told police then he knew it was a hangout for prostitutes but told officers on Feb. 1 that he didn't know Parkway Drive's reputation for criminal activity. Samuelian said he was lost and was looking for the Fresno County Farm Bureau office.

****

The officers who stopped Samuelian recommended prosecution after learning of the 1998 incident, for which Samuelian paid a fine and completed a one-day diversion program that removed the citation from his record.

Not enough evidence to convict, but it does make his "I just got lost and was looking for directions" story a bit implausible.

Dropping off brochures at the Farm Bureau, after hours, of a Saturday night.

Just asking directions from a young lady waiting for a bus.

Right. Sounds like a great alibi to me!

You go, girl!

(possibly misplaced loyalty alert)

Lemme guess - he's a fire and brimstone social conservative who happens to have a little problem about a compulsion to find hookers, right?

Burn him - that is the last kind of GOP guy we need.

Samuelian might be a guy with whom you agree (or with whom I might agree, had I ever heard of him before), but he has appallingly bad judgment. As to the morality of soliciting (and how about when he wasn't caught soliciting), that's between him and his wife. Of course, I'd say the same thing about him as about Clinton a few years ago: if he violates his oath of fidelity to his own wife, what is he going to do to the voters someday?

Maybe the Kali Republicans (all 6 of them) are ticked off at him for acting like Clinton and for giving away their claim to a higher moral standard than the Kali Demofascists?

Remember when the California congressman (a GOP-er I think) was caught in a car with a prostitute? I believe he said he didn't know she was a prostitute, or he wouldn't have gotten near her.

Jay Leno's take: The prostitute said that if she'd known he was a congressman she wouldn't have gotten near him.

First maxim of British politics - don't get caught in bed with a dead woman or a live boy, and if you get caught in bed with a live woman, be sure that you didn't pay her to be there.

Bill Clinton is a RAPIST. Steve Samuelian drove down a street and asked for directions at a gas station. What the hell are you talking about?

You fell for the spin. It's impossible to find the truth in the ramblings of the liberal press. The Fresno Bee hates Steve Samuelian about as much as they hate George W. Bush.

Sounds like the type of canniblas that reside in the Washington State GOP. Up here they're almost predatory cannibals.

You fell for the spin, too. You believe everything you read in the liberal press? Not me. I know the Fresno Bee too well. But I'm not surprised. I figured you guys would pounce just like this. And another one bites the dust. Too bad. For victory & freedom, anyway!!!

Sheeesh. Not one FReeper doesn't fall for the newspaper spin hook line and stinker. Unbelievable. You guys are gullible beyond words. I thought you knew the media would lie, cheat, steal, deceive and try to destroy any conservative Republican. I hope to God none of you ever falls prey to the "thought police" because you are ripe for the pickin'.
