Actor George Clooney frustrated by U.S. war drive

BERLIN, Feb 23 (Reuters) - American actor George Clooney stepped up his criticism of George W. Bush's administration on Sunday, saying he feared a war against Iraq was inevitable but would ultimately only lead to more violence.

"America's policies frustrate me," Clooney said in a German television programme. "I think a war against Iraq is as unavoidable as it senseless. I think it's coming. But I also think the real danger is going to be what happens after it."

Clooney, who in interviews with European newspapers has accused Bush of war-mongering over Iraq, is on a growing list of Hollywood celebrities to speak out against war. Others include Sean Penn, Ed Harris, Dustin Hoffman, Madonna and director Spike Lee.

"You can't beat your enemy anymore through wars; instead you create an entire generation of people revenge-seeking," Clooney said in the ARD television programme "Beckmann".

"These days it only matters who's in charge," Clooney said. "Right now that's us -- for a while at least. Our opponents are going to resort to car bombs and suicide attacks because they have no other way to win."

Clooney, 41, said Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld was making a mistake to think a war against Iraq would be an easy win for the United States.

"I believe he thinks this is a war that can be won, but there is no such thing anymore," said Clooney, who starred in a film about the 1991 Gulf War "Three Kings" that took a dark look at the war to drive Iraq out of Kuwait.

"We can't beat anyone anymore," added Clooney, who has called it unfair that Americans opposed to war are being branded unpatriotic.

Clooney, who won fame for his leading role in long-running hospital drama "ER", has also appeared in films including "Batman and Robin", "The Perfect Storm" and "Brother Where Art Thou?".

A couple of weeks ago George asked a movie critic, "Make a lot of movies, do you?"

So I guess George would understand if someone asked him, "A foreign policy scholar, are you George?"

Notice that all these hollyweird leftists make their statement ou of the country. If they had real guts and courage they would do them here. Hey George, be brave and go on the Fox Nes Chanel and make these statements if you really want your meesage to be heard.

Who cares what George Clooney thinks about war? I am sure his opinion ranks right up there with mine about which toilet bowl cleaner to use. 1-900-getalife Clooney. Let the men who have tremendous leadership skills and intelligence run our country. (and that would leave him out.) hmmm.... I better have some coffee before I respond to anymore stories today ...

He and Dick Gere should get a dozen gerbels, a hotel room, an eight ball and leave the rest of us alone with their moronic views. I really for the life of me can't believe that these idiots are so arrogant to think that their opinions matter anymore than anyone else.

I'm sure Mr. Clooney finds a fair number of things frustrating. Things like saying more than two words that someone else didn't write for him. Things like understanding all of the big words written on his happy meal package and things like getting himself dressed in the morning all by himself.

This waste of protein ought to simply shut up if he has nothing intelligent to say.

And he doesn't!!

Hey George, be brave and go on the Fox Nes Chanel and make these statements if you really want your meesage to be heard.

Not going to happen. Bill O'Reilly exposed George for the fraud that he is. Bill kept asking "Where are all the outspoken Hollywood stars because the 9/11 charity wasn't sending the money to the victims of the WTC as the donors intended?" George started egging Bill in every forum he could. But he never had the guts to go on the No-Spin Zone and face Bill. What a dumbass!

So we are even Georgie Boy, Hollywoods policies and the Democrat Obstructionist Parties policies frustrate most conservative Americans.
You have to be a liberal to be considered a minority. We want to protect the Iraqi citizens but could care less about ours and the rest of the worlds.
We hate gas guzzling SUVs be we regularly use private jets and heat and cool our 40000square foot mansions.
We do not believe in vouchers because we can afford to send our children to private liberal schools but yours should have to take what we offer as long as the curriculum
is liberal.Plus how we gonna keep um down on the farm if they are really educated.
We believe in equal rights and diverse neighborhoods as long as we can keep ours segregated by the use of money.
We believe anyone should be able to move into and about any neighborhood as long as they stay off of our private state owned beaches in California.
I just love this Democrat Obstructionist view of America.

As dumb Hollywood clucks go, Clooney still comes off dumber...what a clown.

However, "O Brother Where Art Thou?" is a wonder. There's no accounting for how talent works in people.

"...But I also think the real danger is going to be what happens after it."

"...instead you create an entire generation of people revenge-seeking,

Clooney may be an idiot, but he has hit upon a couple of nuggets of truth with the above statements. The real danger in this war with Iraq is not so much Iraq as it is the administration's mindset that there are "peaceful and violent Muslims." It's been formulated for the sake of political correctness, but completely ignores Islamic doctrine and the Muslim mind.

If we invade Iraq and overthrow Saddam Hussein, it's like that a Shia government will replace him - one that's friendly to Iran - and the amount of Islamic terrorism in the world will increase.

I will maintain till my dying day that the appropriate response to 9-11 was a strategic nuclear strike on the cities of Mecca and Medina followed by the sternest lecture on world wide television ever given by an American president. But I suppose we have to wait for them to vaporize one of our cities before doing that.
