Why I Listen to Country Music (New Darrel Worley Song)
Darrel Worley ^ | 2-27-03 | Sonserae

Have You Forgotten Darryl Worley

I hear people saying We don’t need this war But I say there’s some things worth fighting for What about our freedom and this piece of ground We didn’t get to keep them by backing down Now they say we don’t realize the mess we’re getting in Before you start to preaching let me ask you this my friend

Have you forgotten how it felt that day? Too see your homeland under fire and her people blown away Have you forgotten when those towers fell? We had neighbors still inside going through a living hell And you say we shouldn’t worry about Bin Laden Have you forgotten?

They took all the footage off my TV They said it’s too disturbing for you and me It’ll just breed anger, it’s what the experts say If it was up to me I’d show it everyday Some say this country’s just out looking for a fight Well after 9-11 man I’d have to say that’s right

Have you forgotten how it felt that day? Too see your homeland under fire and her people blown away Have you forgotten when those towers fell? We had neighbors still inside going through a living hell And you say we shouldn’t worry about Bin Laden Have you forgotten?

I’ve been there with the soldiers who’ve gone away to war And you can bet that they remember just what they’re fighting for

Have you forgotten all the people killed? Yeah some went down like heroes in that Pennsylvania field Have you forgotten about our Pentagon? Yeah all those loved ones that we lost And those left to carry on Don’t you tell me not to worry about Bin Laden Have you forgotten how it felt that day? Too see your homeland under fire and her people blown away Have you forgotten when those towers fell? We had people still inside going through a living hell And you say we shouldn’t worry about Bin Laden Have you forgotten? Have you forgotten? Oh Have you forgotten?

This is why I listen to country music. I heard this on the radio this morning and cried. Tell me what you think....

I will never forget the photos of people jumping from the towers because of the heat. Never, even if they never show them again.

Here it is in proper form....

Have You Forgotten
Darryl Worley

I hear people saying
We don’t need this war
But I say there’s some things worth fighting for
What about our freedom and this piece of ground
We didn’t get to keep them by backing down
Now they say we don’t realize the mess we’re getting in
Before you start to preaching let me ask you this my friend

Have you forgotten how it felt that day?
Too see your homeland under fire and her people blown away
Have you forgotten when those towers fell?
We had neighbors still inside going through a living hell
And you say we shouldn’t worry about Bin Laden
Have you forgotten?

They took all the footage off my TV
They said it’s too disturbing for you and me
It’ll just breed anger, it’s what the experts say
If it was up to me I’d show it everyday
Some say this country’s just out looking for a fight
Well after 9-11 man I’d have to say that’s right

Have you forgotten how it felt that day?
Too see your homeland under fire and her people blown away
Have you forgotten when those towers fell?

Have you forgotten?

I do not like country music at all, but heard this song played at the beginning of a radio talk show today (the Pat Gray Show on Houston's KPRC). I really enjoyed it, the singer has more heart and soul than all of the leftists gathered at the recent Grammy awards.

Heard it yesterday, when Steve Gill, Nashville talk host played it TWICE. He's going to play it again this morning.

Remember when TV and radio stations signed on and off each day with the national anthem? If they still did that, this song should procede the anthem, and in the case of TV, footage of 9-11 should be shown -- every day until we verify that Bin Laden and all of his lieutenants are dead.

It isn't 'the economy, stupid'; it's freedom.

How about the old Country Joe and the Fish song modified...

And it's 1,2,3 what are we fightin for
Don't ask me I don't give a damn,
Next stop is bomb Saddam

And it's 5,6,7 open up the pearly gates
He won't have time to wonder why
Whoopee Saddam's gonna die...

I hope Darryl Worley doesn't mind but I just downloaded the Opry version off Kazaa. (Took all over 30 seconds to grab). Listening to it right now and I'll look for the album next time I'm at the store. My sons listen to quite a bit of country and have a large collection of country music. I like country too but lean towards the older stuff like George Jones, Waylon Jennings and Merle Haggard.

If you want to hear the entire song, it's available on Darryl's web site: www.darrylworrley.com

The home page has a bandwidth (high/low) selection. This leads you to a page that has a set of pictures scrolling along the bottom of the frame. Mouse over and find the picture that says "Music" and click into it. This leads to the page that fires off the Windows Media/RealPlayer version of the song. It's the full four minutes -- not just a thirty second clip.

If you listen closely, you should get a bit of a chill from what is being said.

I love this song!

If you like the song, please buy the CD. We need to support the people in the entertainment industry who support and love America.
