Maybe this, the details today about the "shock and awe" (something like that?) and also Drudge's announcement that Bush is making THE decision tonight is all meant to scare the heck out of Saddam? Try to get him to leave in exile? Maybe it's meant to scare the Iraqis into a coup?

March 7th/8th U.S. Demands a vote on the 2nd resolution after Powell's smoking gun against Iraq is revealed.
March 9th (NEXT WEEK) The liberation of Iraq begins.
General Franks is well on his way back to CENTCOM. There is no reason for him to stay stateside.
