Ivan, do you have any info or links as to why the US Marines were placed under British command?... I think it must have been done for an operational reason; Blair gains nothing politically from this decision. What it appears to be, is that British and British led forces are taking the south of the country, around Basra, and the key oil fields, while the Americans and American-led forces are heading on to Baghdad.
