Russian Connection No Surpriseski

March 24, 2003

At Ari Fleisher's Monday press briefing, Fleischer answered a question on whether finding Russian missiles dated 2002 in Iraq means Russia is our enemy. Of course not. We all know that Vlad Putin, the French and Germans didn't want us going into Iraq because this is what we'd find.

I told you months ago that the Russians were selling GPS jamming equipment and night-vision goggles to the evil Baghdad regime. I'm not shocked or awed by this. Look, the Russian empire is gone and the Soviet Union and communism have swirled down the drain, but they still have ex-KGB people running the show. You know what they say: once KGB, always KGB. I've never fully bought into this notion that Putin is a good guy that can be implicitly trusted. Plus, they're a huge arms supplier.

I do my best to remind people that Putin is KGB, and that the KGB was the communist secret police - and worse. The Russian economic circumstances are such that they need every dime they can get. We're going to interrupt one of their major income flows and trading partners in Iraq. We already have. The same thing goes with France and somewhat with Germany. It's clear from what went on at the United Nations where Russia's sympathies are - and speaking of the UN, I wonder what Hans Blix has to say about these missiles?

I love Rush, but one of his "habits" that bug me the most is his tendency to use "Spanglish" or "Ruslish" words in a humorous way.

It just bugs me. Go figure.

But don't you also see the irony that they don't seem to be working? Russian companies sell dud GPS interrupters to stupid Iraqi's for millions?

"Hans Blix thinks that inspections will still continue after the war. LOL!"

OH, they'll continue! Except we'll be the ones doing the inspecting.

If Blix does, likely he'll "find out" that all those missiles were plants anyway and that we built that chemical factory in 4 days while we 'passing through.' LOL

Their Cold War surrender is looking more like a strategic maneuver to extract our wealth and diminsh our power. The Communists are still in control and we had better watch our backs.

The commies still are in control, but where are they? That is what every proper conservative asks him- or herself.

They're just in disguise, calling themselves reformers, like Putin.
