But don't be surprised if the revelation that two Kalashnikovs and a handgun were found along with a terrorist in the Jenin ISM office will hardly feature in the search for the truth about Rachel Corrie.

Isn't this the same group (ISM) that just had another American human shield shot in the face. If they are harboring terrorists than they are fair game.

The congressional inquiry called for by Rep. Brian Baird (D-WA) will have to sort it all out..

The arrogance of the U.S. congress is amazing.

Did this incident occur in the USA??

Memo to Brian Baird: Buy yourself a world atlas, you moron.

Good post. There's more here than meets the eye. This should be circulated as far and as wide as possible.

''We were horribly surprised,'' Smith told me by phone from Rafah the day after the incident. 'They had been careful not to hurt us. They'd always stopped before,''

Well, ninnies. It's a different world. Counting on the sympathy of people you've made your enemies is not a recipe for longevity.

No offense to Rachel's family, although I do think they do have something to answer for (they sent her out to do this), but she is a classic example of Darwin's Law: an intelligent woman would never have done what she did. (Unless she was trying to please a wacko Mom or Dad.)

I remember seeing the photos of her in the hospital and thought that the doctors seemed either 1) Inept, or 2) Stalling, medical care.

It appeared to me that the whole thing was more a photo op than an emergency medical team working to save her life.

I will follow this with some interest because I smell a rat.

Look at her jacket. In one scene, the red jacket has a definite white strip where she's standing sideways and the sun casts her shadow to the right. The one scene with her back to the camera the strip is dark with a design. Definitely different backgrounds and where's the sun? Definitely two different bulldozers and different levels of earth. Wow! Wonder if the ISM/Hamas set Corrie up to die for their cause or was she so indoctrinated that she willingly placed herself under the bulldozer?

Take a look at some of the previous discussions about the strange circumstances surrounding the death of the terrorist, Rachel Corrie. Freepers know there is serious concern about the integrity of the photos. (Can you say, "photomontage"?)

Looks like the same bulldozer to me. She did get run over, but I don;t give her any slack, she's another deluded, do-ridht wrongdoer with a chip on her shoulder and a completely twisted, self-destructive self-actualizing on things.

same bulldozer. The light racks seem to be mounted to the actuating arms. IMO, the IDF didn't kill her, Evergreen college did.

I went to the links but all I saw was a picture of here being cradled by her friends, slighty twisted with blood coming out of her mouth.

Where are the photos of her getting run over?

I dont like to mince my input...I want to see the moment of truth...

Disclaimer: Stupid Human Trick for sure.

One of the articles I read about Rachel Corrie quoted her friends as stating she was talking and moaning after she was "run over". They said she kept moaning "My back, my back..."

Just another conflicting detail to add to this mess of lies and distortion.

Although the death of any noncombatant is a tragedy, we ought to remember that Rachel Corrie died as a human shield for - not people but a building. In this case a building belonging to the notorious Arab bomber Samir Masri, who had escaped from prison about ten years earlier.

The Israelis long ago adopted the policy of bulldozing the buildings belonging to terrorists, not only as a deterrent to the particular terrorists, but also because there was a strong likelihood that the building was strategically located for terrorist purposes, that it was specially fortified and equipped (for example, they've found elaborate tunnels and secret rooms, even wired for electricity, in such buildings), and would be an attractive lair for other terrorists if not razed.

Rachel Corrie and her group of English-speaking protesters were playing human shield against the bulldozers precisely because Arabs - who certainly aren't bashful about being used as human shields - aren't foolish enough to do such a thing.

The description of the tragedy was that, although she was dressed in highly visible clothes and so forth, she dropped to the ground - out of the view of the bulldozer driver - seconds before the bulldozer hit her, and apparently she did so at a moment when the bulldozer was maneuvering so that the driver wouldn't have noticed what happened to her but might assume, since she was no longer standing in his way, that she had been sensible enough to get out of his path.

We certainly had strong negative attitudes about those Americans who went to Iraq to play human shield for Saddam and I don't know why other Americans who do the same for Arafat get more sympathy.
