Presented by The International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences, The Webby Awards is the leading international honor for the worlds best web sites. The Academy is proud to present The 7th Annual Webby Awards Nominees.

Not sure exactly how to post this; did a search for "Webby" and found squat.

The Webby Awards are given to the best websites in various categories. While the real awards are voted on by the Academy, there's a People's Choice type thing where you can vote for your favorite.

Free Republic is NOT one of the nominees, but you can write in your vote, which many people do. Free Republic could probably be written in for the categories: Community or Activism or Politics. The "Activism" nominees are mostly psycho environmental groups, worthless "whatevers".

Voting is strictly regulated to prevent, er, FReeping. You have to register, and the results are audited by PWC.

I would also suggest NationalReview.com for all you Corner fans in the "Print & Zines" category, where it's leading all write-in votes, although, again, it's not an official nominee.

FOXNews.com would be another website conservatives might consider in News or TV or whatnot.

I'd suggest MY site in the personal or politics section, but it's not really about me, is it?

Yeah, WhiteHouse.org is a parody. WhiteHouse.com is porn. WhiteHouse.gov is the real deal.

I would add that voting ends May 16th.

This is in series need of FReeping. PETA (but not People Eating Tasty Animals) is a leading write in in a couple of categories.

There's a KidsChoice or some such thing that Nick.com is doing. They have the Dixie Chicks up for favorite group award. They're also running commercials promoting the Dixie Chicks during NickJr shows in the morning. Not real happy with Viacom. We decided to turn off our cable even though it means no more FOXNews. I'll just read the stories online.

Let your children FREEP Nick.com!

Voting continues through May 23, 2003!

I just voted for Free Republic under the activisim category, you have to vote as a write in, but it will see that it's already in the database and let you add your vote to the others who have voted for Free Republic as a write in.

Looks like it will take a lot of votes to even get FR into the list under writeins.

Why even give them the time of day?

We should just ignore them, because as usual these awards are for the "ARTSY FARTSY" crowd. We will never be excepted.

What we need to do is get with like minded web sites and start our own award Group.

Conservatives controll the non-porno side of the web, Liberals control the disgusting side. It's time for like minded conservatives and have our own award presentation. After all look at the top 100 sites on the web, I would bet that it is dominated by conservative sites.
