WEEKLY RANT

YOU'RE NOT PATRIOTIC, YOU'RE A TRAITOR

By Erik Barath

Freedom of speech is a wonderful thing, especially when practiced by me. So allow me to flex my Constitutionally protected muscle.

You! Yes you! The ones at the New York "die ins" and San Franciscan "vomit ins" and all other protesters in between. I have a news flash for you. You're not patriotic, brave or remotely respectable. You're vile, hypocritical and accessories to murder.

You stand against everything this country was built on, which by the way, allows you to be so vile without incarceration or execution, punishments which would be imposed on you, for speaking out, by those regimes you stand in solidarity with.

You're un-American and I'm not afraid to say it. If you have the right to erroneously equate George Bush to Adolf Hitler or call America a terrorist nation, I certainly have the right to call you what is already proven.

We see who you are now. Your cohorts in the liberal media can't vouch for you anymore. Your vile protest signs and offensive chants made sure of that. The jig is up. Even your greatest sponsors, CNN, couldn't hide the fact that Marxist, anti-Semitic groups organize your little shindigs. They can't hide your support of North Korea's butcher, Kim Jong-Il or your denial of Tiennamen Square. They can't hide your hatred for the state of Israel or your hatred for the US military. The same military that gave and sustains your right to be so hateful.

And your view of this war is illustrative of who you really are. You echo the Iraqi propaganda minister Baghdad Bob's every words. You would rather believe the words of proven liars rather than those from the free world. You're a bunch of walking, second rate slogans without merit or shred of reality.

Peace is not a bumper sticker, tie dyed T-shirt or hand gesture. It is something which comes from the great sacrifice of the few so that many more can live better live in the future. But what would you know about sacrifice? I see who you are. Most of you are young, un-showered, un-disciplined, unemployed and overrated. It seems that the vast majority of you come from well off households and attend elite Universities. You hold anti corporate hostilities but wear the latest gear from Ambercrombie & Finch. Everything you have came from the system you rage against.

And speaking of peace, the song "Give Peace a Chance" never liberated an oppressed peoples. Nor was John Lennon a great diplomat who ever softened the hearts of Pol Pot, Saddam or KIm Jong-Il. But since you people get your marching orders from Lennon songs, here's one I believe in. "Happiness is a Warm Gun."(bang bang, shoot shoot)

Freedom has always come at the end of a warm, smoking gun. America's freedom, and subsequent Constitution, resulted from war as did the freedom of slaves. Most of Europe would speak German and reside as German satellite states if not for American guns. Bosnian Muslims, collectively, would have been relegated to fertilizer if not for the guns of the US.

Your silly banners, T-shirts, bumper stickers and hand gestures have never aided anyone's liberation. And what's your obsession with leftist ideology and Communism? Are you so out of touch with historic reality? Or do you have a sadistic romanticist identification with murderous rule?

Marching behind the banners of the Socialist Workers Party while holding signs that equate Bush to Hitler is obscene. Standing together with an organization that supports Kim Jong-Il lends no credence to your argument that a war In Iraq will take innocent lives. You obviously support the taking of innocent lives as long as it's not taken by American soldiers.

And what about innocent lives? Saddam kills a truckload of Iraqis by the time you awake in each afternoon to your breakfast of granola and hemp juice. Get a clue.

But most of you are adamant about Bush being the king of evil in this world. Of course, that is, until one of you are forced to deal with actual reality.

Kenneth Joseph, a young American pastor, went to Iraq as a human shield. Once there, Joseph was quick to learn that Iraqis were praying for the war. They said that they were willing to get their homes demolished if it meant the end of Hussein. Joseph said: "Their tales of slow torture and killing made me ill, such as people put in a huge shredder for plastic products, feet first so they could hear their screams as bodies got chewed up from foot to head."

Kenneth Joseph now supports the war. What a surprise......

On a serious note, for all the hysterical ranting about how things are done "just so we can have cheap oil" (untrue in this instance for reasons discussed ad nauseum), none of them has ever bothered to consider what the impact their desire for expensive oil would have on the lives of all but the super wealthy. Impacted worst of all would be the poor.

There are times when you read something and the only thought you have when done is, I wish I would have written that. Thanks for posting it!

I dislike Bush because he does nothing for the majority of Americans, his thoughts are only with his pockets, and with the pockets of his funders and "rich" allies.

This is obviously not an opinion you developed by knowing Bush personally, by knowing any of his friends personally, or by observation of his actions as President. So who told you this was the "truth"?

He does not give us universal health care, which is a universal right, nor does he do anything to strengthen laws to help our planet, on the contrary, he has been cutting them to pieces.

The US Senate voted down the Kyoto treaty 95-0. Universal Health Care has to paid for by somebody...is it a "universal right" to pick someone else's pocket to indemnify people against poor lifestyle choices like smoking and overeating? Again, someone told you this glib and shallow rationalization and you are just repeating it verbatim. Who?

Now that Liberal Extra Strong isn't selling too well, this sounds like test-marketing for Liberal Lite ("Now with less anti-Americanism!" (TM) )

Just be smart and give it up altogether.

Even if we conclude they're not justified, we could end up being dead right." This is an e-mail from my brother-in-law.

How often have they been right? By most counts to date, zero seems to be the closest number.

Yes there most definately are evil people. And you can't stop them with "love". Its people like you that are the problem. You sit in your home protected by the mightiest army in the history of this planet and assume that everyone else would have it just as good as you if we only "gave peace a chance".
You are an accessory to murder. And I find it disgusting that you would compare George W. Bush (who is the leader of the free world be the way) to Saddam Hussein who has dissentors tongues ripped out.
Grow up and get a clue hippy.

Sacrifice? Why should anyone have to be sacrificed? Are we not all equally important?

here's why...check this new thread with this topic:

Bob Arnott was just on MSNBC reporting that he had traveled to many of the hospitals in the area and assisted in the care for the many children in the facilities that have been struck by gunfire (he's also a doctor). He said he was unsure what the mood in the hospitals would be but found the doctors and patients to be "ecstatic" that Saddam was gone. He then said that the gunshots were all made by small caliber weapons that the U.S. Army does not have and, when he inquired further about the cause of the wounds, he was told by parents and hospital staff that the paramilitary forces were shooting kids on purpose to make it look like the U.S. forces were inflicting civilian casualties.

This is why we need to use force sometimes, kiddo. You want to be the one to sit down with a true sociopath and discuss YOUR idea of peace over a nice cup o' tea? Guess what....he wouldn't give a flip about YOUR ideas of peace...

And for the majority of Americans who can't afford health and dental care...are they free to be unhealthy and live that way?

And would you care to back up that statement with some facts? Explain to me how it's the government's responsibility to give to people just because they exist. Who do you think pays for it? The Government? NO! You do! Your taxes. The taxes you secretly wish you didn't have to pay.

I have read numerous things on Bush and his connection with the oil industry, can you honestly tell me that he does not have that in his mind as he sends our troops off to war?

The US doesn't need to take over Iraq to have access to their oil. We could buy it at any time, and we have been. The US didn't need to take military action to have access to oil we are already buying. Some of the gasoline in your car right now was made from Iraqi crude. It is very narrow-minded and simplistic to think that oil was the motivation for this war. It was the threat of terrorism, both now and in the future.

I do not support anyone in the taking of innocent lives, but remember, all lives are innocent.

Was Hitler innocent? Was Pol Pot innocent? Was Saddam Hussein innocent? You are not thinking! Innocence derives from what people do or don't do. Hitler, Pol Pot, and Saddam to name a few, all forfeited whatever innocence they had when they embarked on their sprees of murder and mayhem. All lives are not innocent, except at the moment of their birth.

I dislike Bush because he does nothing for the majority of Americans, his thoughts are only with his pockets, and with the pockets of his funders and "rich" allies. He does not give us universal health care, which is a universal right, nor does he do anything to strengthen laws to help our planet, on the contrary, he has been cutting them to pieces. Does he care about this planet? Or is he just happy to line his pocket while he is here?

"Helping this planet" does not include hand-outs for everyone, which is somehow magically paid for out of thin air (in your way of thinking). Universal Health Care? Bad idea, for the simple reason that the cost is staggering, and the ones who would be saddled with the biggest burden of helping to pay for it (taxes) would be the very people it is supposed to help, namely, the poor. Where do you think jobs come from? They come from businessmen (and women) who make a profit on their business, allowing them to expand and hire more people. Jobs are created by businesses which are created by those who have enough money to start businesses, or buy businesses. Any government policy which is anti-business is anti-jobs, and anti-poor people. While your heroes, the Democrats (ask me how I know this...), run around saying how they are for the common man, the working man, they involve themselves with legislation that chokes businesses, taxes them to death, and makes it harder to expand and continue in business. In reality, the Democrats and Liberals are anti-business, and therefore anti-jobs, and against a strong economy. Ask yourself why that would be...

I'm glad you love America, and are glad to live here. but please realize that you are not "owed" anything for that, and it is not the government's job to "give" you anything. If you were truly a patriot, you would be in favor of less government, less intervention in our lives, less taxes for everyone (not just the poor), and more freedom to achieve and realize the American Dream. It isn't going to be handed to you on a platter, nor should it be. You're working your way through school, and that's good, so you're on your way. Just realize that when you expect the government to give you something, when you get it, you trade away a little bit of your freedom for it. Think about that....

" I do not support anyone in the taking of innocent lives, but remember, all lives are innocent. "

You cannot possibly believe this, and expect to be considered a rational human being.
