Let's remember, now, that everything we hear from CNN we have to place in the context of what we now know - that the CNN director of news knew about horrors that were going on in Iraq for 12 years. In light of that, I want you to listen to a sound bite from Christiane Amanpour, Wednesday on Larry King Live.

Amanpour complained that structures in Iraq have not remained in place, leading to looting and violence. What structures? The torture chambers and the rape rooms? Here is a CNN infobabe trapped by the revelations of her boss in the New York Times. Can she actually be pining for the "order" imposed by Saddam?

She derides the Iraqi celebration of freedom as an orgy! Liberals defend looting in this country, they call it justified under some socioeconomic injustices that are being righted, but somehow Iraqi looting is an orgy. She would much prefer the system of order, bad that it was, that existed under Saddam Hussein. In fact her quote was, "the strong arm of Saddam Hussein, who kept the place together, albeit under a terrible authoritarian dictatorship."

This is the Arab point of view and Christiane Amanpour is airing it. I don't know what she knew about what was going on in Iraq, but my guess is she knew much more than what her network was reporting. If I'm wrong, why wouldn't Eason Jordan take aside CNN's lead infobabe on the ground and tell her what's going on there?

Instead he leaves her out to dry, and here she is taking the Arab side of all of this on CNN, under the guise of objective news, defending the regime of Saddam Hussein

Its got to be humbling to have the mask of impartiality ripped from your face in front of 50 million viewers. Ms. Amanpour's reporting won't change but the perspective of any remaining viewers certainly will.
