Charities to Support military families? (vanity?)

Posted on 04/13/2003 6:52:36 AM PDT by hoppity

A friend emailed me and asked if I knew of any trustworthy charities to support families of our fallen troops. I don't. Does anyone else?

Thanks.

Check the main page of FR you'll find links to the individual service organizations run by the services themselves. AER, Navy Relief etc. Avoid the Red Cross like the plague.

Avoid the Red Cross like the plague.

Well, now, in all honesty, you can't say that.

If the Red Cross happens to be crossing the street in front of you, feel free to hit it. I'll donate to help fix the damage to your car.

Fix it only if he backs up to see what he hit.

Hannity keeps talking up an event he's trying to organize for the kids of the KIA troops. It sounds like he's almost ready to announce something soon...

Heres's a Tampa based foundation for Special Ops Children with a fallen parent. It's a scholarship program. John McCain serves on the Board of Advisors along with some former senators.

Visit www.specialops.org. Email: warrior@specialops.org. Their slogan is "Cover Your Buddy". I promised the lady at their booth last week that I would post their info at free republic. Their tax id number is probably on the web site. Please tell your friends. Fregards, Floriduh Voter
