The Truth About Clinton's Military
Radiofree West Hartford ^ | April 16, 2003 | Jonathan Clark

Posted on 04/18/2003 5:40:43 PM PDT by ddodd3329

After three weeks of conflict, Baghdad fell to United States Marine forces. People in every corner of the world watched live as the Iraqi people aided by US Marines toppled the statue of Saddam and rode the head through the streets. Years of pent up frustration and fear were released for the whole world to see. It left the Arab Street in shock, it left 'Old Europe' looking very stupid, but as always the American left was out as soon as it happened attempting to spin the event.

It started on Wednesday with a column from Tribune Media Services writer, Matthew Miller. Miller, who it should be noted, served as Senior Advisor to the Director of the Office of Management and Budget from 1993 to 1995 - the Clinton years part I. In his April 9th column he attempts to credit Bill Clinton with the effectiveness of today's military.

"The remarkable feats in Iraq are being performed by Bill Clinton's military.

This should be obvious to anyone not blinded by ideology or partisanship. We've been told repeatedly how much more lethal and accurate our forces are in 2003 than they were in 1991 - so much so that we needed only 250,000 troops to drive to Baghdad and change the regime, as opposed to the 500,000 we sent merely to oust Saddam from Kuwait in Gulf War I. Something like 90 percent of the bombs and missiles we use are "precision guided" today, versus roughly 10 percent back in 1991. The catalogue of how today's military is smarter, faster and better than it was back during Desert Storm is a credit to U.S. ingenuity and a source of national pride."

Miller then had the audacity to attempt a re-write of history to paint Clinton as a supporter of the military and sustained defense budgets.

"But politics explains why Bill Clinton insisted the Pentagon maintain a Cold War budget even without a Cold War, to protect his party's right flank." >>>continued<<<

I'm in the midst of reading "Dereliction of Duty" by Lt Col Buzz Patterson. Goodness, I thought I already knew of all the evils of the Klintoon, but this book is a minefield of new information.

Got it right. Especially the part about the disdain the military had for Clinton. I worked with many who had few good things to say. In fact, wasn't there an order issued NOT to criticize the commander-in-chief when Clinton was Pres -- the first time this was ever done in American history?

Former President Clinton is a phony. He did everything he could to strip the military of much needed funds. The military really struggled under his time in office, and we should be grateful to the ones who stuck it out in spite of their miserabe COC

Our planes were stripped down for parts, in fact there were even awards created for the squadrons that could keep their planes flying with out using any new parts! Ground troops had no bullets to practice with.

The squadron deployed seven times in four years-- it must have been physically and emotionally tough, but they did their duty---even flying off to Clinton's four day impeachment war "Desert Fox". Who can forget Madeline Albright's disparaging remarks about use of the troops--she went so over the top that she personally devasted re-enlistments that year!

How anyone can dare to call them "Clinton's military" is beyond galling, it makes me sick!

Clinton closed the Lake City ammunition facility causing the complet lack of 9mm training ammo a few years ago. Just to show how bad it's got ammo-wise, I shot last year at the national championship match for the National Guard in Camp Robinson, Arkansas (home of the National Guard Marksmanship Training Unit) and they barely had enough ammo to conduct the match. What Clinton did to the military was treasonous.

Sheeeyit. Bill Clinton shining his "Little Soldier's" helmet on a regular basis does not make him a military genius.

"Dereliction of Duty" by Lt Col Buzz Patterson.

A "must read". I knew most of what he says, but seeing the chronology is chilling.

BILL CLINTON's Service Record before becoming Commander in Chief:

Bill Clinton registers for the draft on September 08, 1964, accepting all contractual conditions of registering for the draft. Given Selective Service Number 3 26 46 228.

Bill Clinton classified 2-S on November 17, 1964.

Bill Clinton reclassified 1-A on March 20, 1968.

Bill Clinton ordered to report for induction on July 28, 1969.

Bill Clinton dishonors order to report and is not inducted into the military.

Bill Clinton reclassified 1-D after enlisting in the United States Army Reserves on August 07,1969 under authority of Col. E. Holmes. Clinton signs enlistment papers and takes oath of enlistment.

Bill Clinton fails to report to his duty station at the University of Arkansas ROTC, September 1969.

Bill Clinton reclassified 1-A on October 30, 1969, as enlistment with Army Reserves is revoked by Colonel E. Holmes and Clinton now AWOL and subject to arrest under Public Law 90-40 (2)(a) 'registrant who has failed to report...remain liable for induction'.

Bill Clinton's birth date lottery number is 311, drawn December 1,1969, but anyone who has already been ordered to report for induction is INELIGIBLE!

Bill Clinton runs for Congress (1974), while a fugitive from justice under Public Law 90-40.

Bill Clinton runs for Arkansas Attorney General (1976), while a fugitive from justice.

Bill Clinton receives pardon on January 21, 1977, from Carter. Bill Clinton FIRST PARDONED FEDERAL FELON ever to serve as President.

All these facts come from Freedom of Information requests, public laws, and various books that have been published, and have not been refuted by Clinton.

After the 1993 World Trade Center bombing, which killed six and injured 1,000; President Clinton promised that those responsible would be hunted down and punished.

After the 1995 bombing in Saudi Arabia, which killed five U.S. military personnel; Clinton promised that those responsible would be hunted down and punished.

After the 1996 Khobar Towers bombing in Saudi Arabia, which killed 19 and injured 200 U.S. military personnel, Clinton promised that those responsible would be hunted down and punished.

After the 1998 bombing of U.S. embassies in Africa, which killed 224 and injured 5,000, Clinton promised that those responsible would be hunted down and punished.

After the 2000 bombing of the USS Cole, which killed 17 and injured 39 U.S. sailors, Clinton promised that those responsible would be hunted down and punished.

Maybe if Clinton had kept those promises, an estimated 3,000 people in New York and Washington,D.C. that are now dead, would be alive today.

AN INTERESTING QUESTION: This question was raised on a Philly radio call-in show. Without casting stones, it is a legitimate question. There are two men, both extremely wealthy. One develops relatively cheap software and gives billions of dollars to charity.

The other sponsors terrorism.

That being the case, why was it that the Clinton Administration spent more money chasing down Bill Gates over the eight years in office, than Osama bin Laden?

THINK ABOUT IT!

It is a strange turn of events. Hillary gets $8 Million for her forthcoming memoir. Bill gets about $12 Million for his memoir yet to be written.

This from two people who spent 8 years being unable to recall anything about past events while under oath!

P.S. We don't want this woman to even THINK of running for President.

I just finished reading Dereliction of Duty, and it made me really really angry. Monica Lewinsky? Clinton should have been impeached for failing to protect our national security! He's a disgrace in more ways than we ever imagined. For those who haven't read this book yet, make it a high priority (it's a fast read, too). Patterson in his book recounts terrorist act after another that happened on clinton's watch, and also details clinton's ineptitude, arrogance, and self-serving absorption. This book made me even madder than reading Shakedown, about Jesse Jackson.

Thanks for the reference. Despite the NY Times slant of blaming it all on Ken Starr's report, it was great to read some of the quotes from men and women in uniform.

Hillary, er - no - Slick Willy, was the most anti-military
president in our nation's history. Their actions in great
part created the homeland security and overseas threats
Amercia faces today. However, RINO's in Congress at that
time must share some of the blame. It took their votes to
endorse the shifting of federal funds from the military
to domestic items under the so called Cold War peace
dividend. I fear the military may come under budget cuts
again as the GOP controlled Cogress may shift from guns
to butter in an effort to bribe the voters in the 2004
election.
