From the article:
-Span, the nation's venerable electronic forum, was eager for live coverage for the nonprofessional electorate out here, but it says it had to settle for playbacks beginning Sunday afternoon. Otherwise, 40 or so local ABC outlets and Internet broadcasters are opting to broadcast the debate when it is over, after 11 tonight, while others are not. (Blacked-out New Yorkers can only envy Pocatello and Traverse City tonight.)
So, I can't watch, at all, I guess (NYer's blacked out). I'll try to get more specific times for the "after 11" tonight.

Should be pure comedy. I am missing one. There are Dean, Kerry, Edwards, Sharpton, Moseley-Braun, Lieberman, Grahm and Gebhart. Who is the ninth candidate?

Best I could do, from
here: The debate, sponsored by ABC News, will not be televised live nationally. It will be taped for airing later on nearly 50 ABC affiliates around the country, with most showing it after the Saturday night news but some waiting until later in the night or Sunday morning.

A THOUGHT: I think they don't want to air it live nationally because they're too afraid of having the speech impediments of which they accuse GW. They may say things as: misunderestimate or strategery, for example; why, they may even choke on a pretzel or while taking a sip of water. They may not know the Vice Premier of a certain foreign country. They may not know who is the individual leading in Iraq's interim government now that Saddam Hussein is gone. And Kerry might mistakenly say "we need a regime change in the US, too." All mistakes will be cut or dubbed over by press time!

As of now - and Lord knows that with C-SPAN, any of this could change at any moment - it's scheduled to air on C-SPAN tomorrow at 1:15 pm, 6:30pm and 9:30pm Eastern.

So the debates will be tucked away in some obscure place and time.
Dear me, I always thought the purpose of debates was to showcase the particular talents and views of the candidates to the voters, hence helping them to decide who to vote for.
The "secret" debate is more likely due to there being no talent, and no variation in views for the lot of them. They are simply "the opposition candidate(s)"

Never heard of him. What's his story?Imagine a perpetually pissed-off Paul Wellstone, and you'll get the gist. Just plug his name into FR's search engine, and all sorts of amusing articles will come up about him and his opinions.

What??? You mean it isn't going to be on ANYTHING live?I think it will be on ABCNEWS' Internet video feed live, though i'm not 100% certain of that. And you have to pay for that feed. $5/mo just for ABC, or $10/mo through Real Networks, where you get ABC plus a zillion other things.

Cowards! Of course I would never pay to watch the RATs make complete asses of themselves. I guess i'll have to try and catch the later taped delay.

Considering I'm a Chicagoan who still considers Carol Motley Brawn a criminal, and hoped I'd never have to see her ugly face again, I could not ever watch it.
