Victoria--right on to your #33, and MHG--AMEN to your #30!

For many years since Roe there have been calls to excommunicate these SOB (sons of Baal). Some campaigns have been from major organizations going to high offices within the Vatican.

They've all failed.

The one man who could make it happen is the Pope himself. He has been in charge since Oct. 1978. He could get worldwide coverage by formally and publicly excommunicating these rats himself.

He could set the stage for it to be a global teaching + disciplining event. Not just in the US but everywhere. Maybe cover one country per week, kind of a Holy "shock and awe" campaign of papal proportions.

It wouldn’t get swept away in a couple of news cycles either.

I always ask myself why hasn't he done it himself? (In his own way.) No one could stop him. He is after all the most responsible.

Lastly, if he did this, it would be great but it would be treating only a symptom of the disease.

“The solution to ending the culture of death does not realistically lie with changing the minds of pro-abortion adults; it lies with preserving the 99+ % of children that are naturally pro-life on their first day of school.”
From THE MISSING KEY OF THE PRO-LIFE MOVEMENT
(shameless plug for the cause!)

Yes and no. If the couple is in their home parish, the priest knows or ought to. Politicians who endorse abortion are PUBLIC SINNERS.

I wish the Pope would be just as serious about the priests that abuse children - but he refuses.

This was a good article but way too long to read through. I got the good flavor about a 3rd of the way through.

He may be Catholic, but I think there is a cat fight to see who is "THE MOST LEFT WING POLITICIAN" in DC.

You sin, repent your sin and commit to try to not to sin again. You are forgiven. To take a public stance and actively seek the support of like minded people in order to get elected and then try to reconcile/rationalize your standing with the teachings of your faith is a failure of character. What does the Bishop of New Orleans have to say about Mary Landrieu's given vote on any abortion issue???????

Only 60 something posts before someone inserted slander about the Pope. Oh well. The fact is that you have no clue as to what the Pope has or hasn't done, and or what the Bishops who control their diocese have or haven't done. Keep on believing the media. Us traditionalists will keep on getting stronger. It'll take time, but we're doing it.

ps: It was a homosexual scandel primarily, not pedophile, and if you did a little research outside of the mainstream lie machine you'd realize that.

Re: Post #40

"The congressman replied something to the effect that then perhaps the time will have come to re-examine the Catholic Church's tax-exempt status. "

The question of the Bishop's Backbone or lack there of, is answered in your post!

This article illustrates a key principle for conservative Catholics. If you want to make a difference, forget secular politics and work for restoration in the church. If bishops would behave Catholic once again, the abortion regime would be deposed within a year.

Remember, we are speaking of democratic politicians, they have already sold their souls to the devil.

Unfortunately, many of our Church hierarchy became one with the politicians in forming an oligarchy that lost all touch with its flock and formed an unholy allegiance with its partners which it now protects.
The crisis in the Church might actually be the best thing tha has happened in one hundred years, causing a re-examination and re-dedication to Catholic dogma.

Oh, we don't want to be so harsh that we lose congregants" is ignorant - if the congregants continue to believe this crap, then you've already lost them.

Applies to any church/group/denomination.

The O'Jays---For The Love Of Money

Money money money money, money (x6)
Some people got to have it
Some people really need it
Listen to me y'all, do things, do things, do bad things with it
You wanna do things, do things, do things, good things with it
Talk about cash money, money
Talk about cash money- dollar bills, yall

For the love of money
People will steal from their mother
For the love of money
People will rob their own brother
For the love of money
People can't even walk the street
Because they never know who in the world they're gonna beat
For that lean, mean, mean green
Almighty dollar, money

For the love of money
People will lie, Lord, they will cheat
For the love of money
People don't care who they hurt or beat
For the love of money
A woman will sell her precious body
For a small piece of paper it carries a lot of weight
Call it lean, mean, mean green

Almighty dollar

I know money is the root of all evil
Do funny things to some people
Give me a nickel, brother can you spare a dime
Money can drive some people out of their minds

Got to have it, I really need it
How many things have I heard you say
Some people really need it
How many things have I heard you say
Got to have it, I really need it
How many things have I heard you say
Lay down, lay down, a woman will lay down
For the love of money
All for the love of money
Don't let, don't let, don't let money rule you
For the love of money
Money can change people sometimes
Don't let, don't let, don't let money fool you
Money can fool people sometimes
People! Don't let money, dont let money change you,
it will keep on changing, changing up your mind.

Why The Democrats Are The Way They Are -- Phyllis Schlafly Nov. ... Women are victims of an oppressive patriarchal society; all men are guilty both individually and collectively; and men who abuse women are not anomalous but typical.

EMILY's List, which contributes only to Democratic pro-abortion feminist candidates, put $20 million into political campaigns in 2000 and another $20 million into campaigns this year.

That's twice as much as the second largest political action committee. Such a vast amount of money explains why Democratic Senators don't dare to confirm a judge who is pro-life.

Translation: Fine, prelate. You want to put the screws to me and cost me votes with Catholic constituents by putting me outside the Roman Catholic community? Well, let's see how long you can operate a diocesan budget with a secular adjustment of the tax code. I think you may have something, and the threat is effective not only against the Church but against Protestant prelates such as Mr. Falwell. BUT I say: OK do it. Then it will be clear to Catholics and other Christians that a Kulturekampf is underway. It will be clear who the enemy is. How many politicians have the guts to risk the establishment of a Christian political party? Pols are not famous for courage.

Bishop Weigand said something like this -- Gray Davis should have the personal integrity not to take The Eucharist if he did not believe and would not uphold Church teachings.
