Here is a cut and paste job off another thread.

Here is the O'Reilly story: Bill O’Reilly was emceeing an event on April 12th sponsored by the Best Friends Foundation, a non-profit that provides a curriculum and resources for children from 5th to 12th grade to make the proper decisions outside of school. During the festivities, a capella group of 6th to 8th grade boys called the Best Men was late making it back onto the stage to perform. Trying to fill the time, O’Reilly quipped, “Does anyone know where the Best Men are? I hope they’re not in the parking lot stealing our hubcaps.” Now, 6th to 8th graders are usually not associated with the theft that O’Reilly is describing. Most adolescents who engage in criminal activity do so later in adolescence. More importantly, the boys that were the target of O’Reilly’s cheap joke were in a singing group. Anyone with a cursory understanding of the “gangsta” culture that embodies most teenage delinquency today (regardless of race) would agree that 12 year olds in doo-wop bands are not trying to make their mark through criminal activity. So why did O’Reilly make this off-the-cuff remark? No kidding…the kids in the Best Men are black. O’Reilly stereotyped young black men with criminal activity, even though the majority of black boys under the age of 18 do not engage in criminal activity. Many members of the crowd, according to Lloyd Grove of the Washington Post, did not hear the remark. However, Bo Derek was in attendance and acknowledged hearing the remark, although provided no additional comment. Washington news anchor Andrea Roane, after hearing the remark, was purported to have muttered, “Unbelievable.” An anonymous source added, “The well-known Republican politicians and their spouses seated at or near my table were appalled.”

Regardless, Bill usually gets himself in the most trouble when he tries to appease everybody. Those on the right, and the left. When he does this, he digs himself a real big hole.

That's being charitable...Boortz kicked O'reillys arse from Atlanta to Amsterdam, and rightfully so. The "My Spin Zone" got busted bigtime tonight........and Bill knew it. He'll do his spin tomorrow, but he knows....oh, he knows.

He got his clock cleaned and his tail kicked in one little segment. He was outclassed.

We learned one thing tonight: Bill O'Reilly does NOT like being laughed at.

O'Reilly is clearly not guided by any political principle--especially not the constitution.

I think he's imploding. Even if you LIKE various talk show hosts keep this in mind:
Many (but not all) radio and tv. talk show hosts reach a point in their career where they're getting good ratings or attention...and they CHANGE. This is natural, but the change is often where they lose respect for their listeners or their guests. It's sort of like Citizen Kane, where the idealistic newspaper owner "sells out" the older he gets and says "Rosebud" in the end.
I think O'Reilly has gone WAY down hill. I mean WAY downhill the past few months.
Frankly, I'm becoming a huge fan of the Goldsboro show on MSNBC. That guy seems to love what he does, almost gleefully enter into debate, and is 100 percent blunt. O'Reilly uses the word "success" referring to him and his show and "power" referring to him and his show" an awful lot now.
If he does not halt his slide in this direction he'll likely find he's losing ratings, find it harder to get guests, etc.
Almost all top radio talk show hosts are quite different once they hit the top, from when they were coming up. (An unsung talent is San Diego's Roger Hedgecock)
