Everyone knows that Red China is involved in forced abortions as a means of population control and perhaps some people know that American law precludes financial support for coerced abortion.
But how many people know that the Democrats just voted to weaken that law?
The Kemp-Kasten Human Rights Provision does not allow the United States to sponsor programs that involve “coercive abortion or involuntary sterilization.”
In an effort to make UN Population Fund (UNFPA) eligible for US funding, Rep. Joe Crowley (D, NY) sponsored an amendment that would make UNFPA responsible only if they directly coerced women to have abortions. Twenty-two Democrats and one Republican voted in favor of the UNFPA amendment.
Austin Ruse of the Catholic Family & Human Rights Institute reports that this amendment would permit the UNFPA to continue indirectly supporting coerced abortion in China and other countries, since the terms of the amendment define UNFPA involvement as indirect.
In July 2002 Secretary of State Colin Powell announced that “UNFPA’s support of, and involvement in, China's population-planning activities allows the Chinese government to implement more effectively its program of coercive abortion….In light of the Kemp-Kasten amendment, no funds…may be provided to UNFPA…”
According to Ruse, the latest US State Department report for China, released in March, notes that “From 1998 through 2002, the UN Population Fund (UNFPA) conducted a 4-year pilot project in 32 counties…. However, these counties retained the birth limitation policy, including the requirement that couples employ effective birth control methods, and enforced it through other means, such as social compensation fees.”
Perhaps the best part of the story is that Crowley seeks $100 million for UNFPA over the next two years. Isn't it amazing that we can't afford tax cuts, but we can afford $100 million for the United Nations to fund forced abortions in China? Is that a reward to the UN for all the support they gave us in the Iraqi war?
I wonder who the guy is that calls himself a Republican?

I'm sorry to tell you this, but you are a major putz. We don't need that crap at FR. Try DU, they like spending government funds to kill brown people.
Finally, does this sound familiar: "NO racism or violence in posts." To advocate genocide against the Arabs, whether by bombs or "Family Planning" is racist, plain and simple.
